Adore

Scissorbella asked me to make her something to keep her client information in. You know, her customers with their hair color recipes, etc.. I used a CTMH Acrylix Organizer Z1038. I decorated with More to Adore B&T paper X7075B and More to Adore Stickeaze X7075C. I wrapped some chocolate ribbon around it and embellished with a layer of Just Blooms-Big Pinks Z1033 and added a chocolate button.
Attached to the handle are the Chocolate Collection assortment of ribbons Z1302
The inside separators are 6x6 and have alpha stickers. She loves it!!

Cleavage

Ok... I went shopping and bought a couple of new things. I hate shopping so I try to make it as quick as possible. I wore a top to work that probably was a size too big. I'll be washing it in hot water! It was showing a little too much cleavage. I understand that some people wish they had cleavage but.. I don't like showing mine to co-workers. We do have a dress code at work and its not allowed. It drove me crazy all day... Is it because I grew up and was trained to be modest? My Rockstar Chick daughter says.. I've got it so I'll flaunt it. Scissorbella thinks she was cursed because she doesn't have any.. Are we ever happy? I'll bet Olga the Traveling Bra loves to show cleavage!! She is currently in Minnesota visiting Speedy in Hollydale. Let us know Speedy!!

My Handyman gets home and I'm in the kitchen cooking dinner. I'm at the sink and he's staring at me. I said" What are you looking at?" he says. Did you get a new nightgown?? HUH!??? I'm thinking to myself... It must be the cleavage....

My Shadow

Tanner is my shadow. He follows me where ever I go. He can be sound asleep and the minute I stand up to do something.. he's awake and ready to go. He lays as close to my feet as he can. He's at my feet right now as I type. He's funny! But I love him!

See the black spot above his eye? He was a naughty boy at the vet a couple of weeks ago. I took him in to get his nails clipped, his teeth cleaned and his shots. We freaked out when they were getting ready to give him the anesthetic. He jumped off the table and was running circles when the vet was chasing him. He hit his head on the edge of the table and sliced it open. They glued it shut. Its still healing.

When you drive around the Island, Everything is painted in bright primary colors. The houses, the open air markets, even the artwork. There are free range chickens and goats running everywhere. I think that is the food of choice. Chicken, Goat or Seafood. Beef is imported and costs over $25 a pound for steak!

We had so much fun the previous night we decided to hang out at The Hideaway again..

Photobucket

We met a few more of the patrons and a nice couple from Scotland. We were chatting for awhile and I was telling them my Moms family is from Scotland. I ask if they had ever heard of the Kinghorn’s. “You’ve Got to be Kidding!!! We live in Kinghorn” the guy said. It’s a little village along the coast of Scotland. He was telling us how beautiful it is there. I told him my Mom’s last name was Kinghorn. “ You’re Mother?? OH MY GOD!! You’re Royalty!! Everyone in Scotland knows the Kinghorn Family is Royalty! Descendants of Queen Mary !!” People in the restaurant were turning and looking. I had heard this rumor before.. but I really didn’t want to hear it now. I didn’t want the attention. Wilt said “OH NO! Don’t tell her that! She already thinks she’s the Queen!” LOL! We had a nice visit and the rum punch began pouring again!

Here is an interactive map of Saint Martin

One night we took a sunset cruise on the Tango.. It was a beautiful night.

The rum punch was flowing again! I had some old millionaire lady telling me her life adventures on the cruise. I am a good listener so I didn't mind... She was keeping up with me pretty well downing all of those rum punches!! LOL! It was a fun adventure on the sea at night. We could see all of the cruise ships lit up off in the distance.

We had too much sun, too much rum punch but not enough time. It was such a fun time. Before we knew it, it was time to fly back to reality. To the cold, snowy Idaho winter. I have a lot of great memories of our trip to “Sint Maarten” as the Dutch would say. We'll be seeing you again!

We found Orient Beach the next day. It’s a family friendly beach. You have to wear bottoms but can be topless. The waves were calm that day so I just bobbed in the ocean most of the time there. It was glorious!! It was so relaxing… Everyone needs a vacation where you can sit under the warm Caribbean sun all day..
Photobucket
We drove to the French town of Marigot. We wandered the shops and found some souvenirs for the family. We found a French bakery, ate some lunch and bought some pastries for later. There are so many places to eat. So many cultures. So much seafood. So much fun!

That evening we decided to eat at The Hideaway. This is the restaurant at the Resort we were staying at.

Photobucket
Most of the tourists on the Island are retired folks. We were sitting at the bar, eating something with Lobster and chatting with the bartender. The music was calm and soothing. We were trying to talk them into changing the music and making it a little more upbeat! They said they couldn’t because of the Guests. Party Poopers!! The host didn’t want to offend them. This is a small little open air restaurant next to the pool. There are probably about 20 tables. Guests were probably between 40 and 65 years old. This didn’t stop My Handyman. He went around the tables and asked them what they felt about changing the music up a beat. Before we knew it.. the music was loud and rocking and we were all lined up forming a chain, dancing around the restaurant and bar, singing and drinking rum punch! Luckily our path to home was only a few feet away!! I don’t remember how we got home!

Keychain

This is a fun Hybrid Scrapbook project I created using Photoshop Elements. I found the digital kit at The Sweet Shoppe. After I Created and layered each page. I printed them on Premium HP Presentation Paper 32lb matte finish. For small projects like this it works out better than photo paper. I used modge podge to glue the pages to the chipboard. When dry I sanded the edges to make smooth, then added a couple of layers of Matte finish modge podge to each side. This will help protect from all the handling. Each page is about 3 x 4 1/2.

Flexibility is being open to change. You consider others’ ideas and feelings and don’t insist on your own way. Flexibility gives you creative new ways to get things done. You get rid of bad habits and learn new ones. Flexibility helps you to keep changing for the better.

Sint Maarten Two

You can read part 1 here..

There are over 30 beaches on the Island. Most of them nude beaches. To access them, you have to drive down narrow dirt roads. They are not maintained and have deep holes, rocks, muddy spots, etc. Where is the 4 wheel drive when we need it?? We randomly selected one and off we went. We were in the tin can, barely staying on the road when suddenly I spotted a white haired Brown Man walking towards us in the middle of the road. Is that a penis? Wilt almost wrecked the car he was laughing so hard! Welcome to paradise!!!

Another dark skinned man was further down the road directing us to a parking spot. My suit, towel, camera, sunscreen etc was packed away in my beach bag. He owned a little hut on the beach and rented lounge chairs with umbrellas. $10 for a day. He also sold, water, beer and rum punch. I grabbed by bag and asked him where the dressing room was. I think time stood still!!!!! He looked at me, mouth agape and pointed at the bushes! I wasn’t about to show off my saggy white boobs! I somehow got my swimsuit on my body, inside the tin can while maneuvering my body like a contortionist. I put on my cover-up, grabbed my bag and off we went…

Photobucket
We followed the dark skinned man further down the path, down some rocks and around the corner. I stopped in my tracks! There were rows of nude bodies. Old saggy skinned bodies. Skinny toned bodies. Boobs hanging to the knee’s bodies! Big bellies! Small bellies. Dark and tanned in places I didn’t want to view. I was horrified! Scarred for life! It then dawned on me! Here I am paranoid about my body and I looked pretty darn good! I pulled off my cover up, rubbed myself down with sunscreen, plugged in the tunes and got over it!
This is definitely not a beach for picture taking. The camera didn’t come out that day. The dark skinned man brought me a rum punch. Guava Berry Liquor is bottled right on the Island of Saint Martin. It’s one of the ingredients in the punch. I was in paradise! I really wanted to enjoy the scenery… but… try not staring on a nude beach. Especially the first time. I tried to gaze out at the amazing teal colors of the ocean. It’s more beautiful than the pictures. Unbelievable! There was movement all along the beach; People swimming, sunbathing, visiting etc. A man was lounging next to me. He sat up, turned in his chair and started visiting with me; hanging out in all of his glory. He asked me if it were my first time at a nude beach. “Is it that obvious?” LOL!! Even though I had been baking in the Electric Beach for a couple of months before our vacation, I still got a little pink that day.

Sint Maarten One

Since there is a chance of snow tonight and I've been dreaming of sunshine... I'll tell you about my trip to Saint Martin.

My Handyman and I went on a vacation to Saint Martin in December of 2006. We flew to Salt Lake, then to Dallas, then to Puerto Rico, then to Saint Martin. We left home at 5:30 AM and arrived at 11:30 PM. Talk about a long day! When we boarded the plane in Dallas, the pilot asked me where we were going. When I told him, he told me to be sure and go to The Sunset Bar. It’s a small bar on the beach along the airstrip. All topless females get free drinks. The girls all lie out along the airstrip on their lounge chairs and wave to the pilots. I couldn’t help but wonder if the pilot thought I would be participating in this activity. I noticed that twinkle in his eye as he laughed…

The plane from Puerto Rico was small! We flew across several Caribbean islands before landing in Saint Martin. The hot sultry air hit my lungs as I got off the plane. We took a Taxi to La Vista, not sure what our room would be like. Wilt had won the trip on an online sweepstakes entry. I half expected some little dumpy love shack. We didn’t care! We were on vacation! In the Caribbean! Away from all of our worries and stress of daily life. The room was fabulous! It had two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a kitchen, eating area, and living room. The back door led to a covered patio with lounge chairs. A path led to the swimming pool and down about 3 steps to the sandy ocean beach below! We were in Heaven.
Photobucket
Photobucket
The first morning we decided to rent a car for the week. The car barely fit the two of us. It was a tiny tin can.
Photobucket
I swear they have no traffic laws on the Island. They talk to each other in a special horn honking language. I thought I was going to die my first day in paradise. Wilt picked it up pretty quick. Hit the gas, and go for it! Beep! Beep! The entire Island is only 37 square miles. Half of the Island is owned by the Dutch and half by the French. We decided to drive around the Island for a quick tour and see everything there was to offer. We drive into Phillipsburg. There was a lot of open air shopping and dozens of jewelry shops.
Photobucket
You could get a big beautiful diamond for just a couple thousand dollars! Most of the shops are owned be East Indians. I have a gut feeling that most of them are “Blood Diamonds”. Wilt bought me a pretty little Ruby ring. We walked along the boardwalk and seen where the cruise ships dock. We watched some of the local entertainment while eating a quick lunch.
Photobucket
Photobucket
There was a small casino near our “home” so we had to check that out.. We decided we would check out the beaches the next day..
