Song

"A bird doesn't sing because it has an answer, it sings because it has a song" Maya Angelou

This is one of the cute little sentiments for Quotopia. I used my new Inque Boutique paper - Cabana. I cut out the squares with my nestabilities and stamped the sentiment. I added some white grosgrain, some paper flowers, some white brads, some buttons and finished it off with a cute little bird from the Kim Hughes set - Pretty Birds from CHF that I stamped on B&T paper and cut out.

Be an Explorer

The universe is filled with wonder and magical things.

I bought this stamp from Impression Obsession. It reminds me of the Oregon Coast when we go crabbing at Yaquina Bay in Newport. Oh! and the fresh buckets of Oysters ! Nothing like a freshly shucked oyster pulled from the bay! We order a bucket every couple of years and have them fedexed to our house. They're better fresh from the shop and pan fried!

This card is made using Inque Boutique paper - Cabana. The sentiment is from Quotopia from Inque Botique, also. I water colored the image with my twinkling H20's on water color paper. I embellished with some ivory ribbon, a CTMH ivory pin, acrylic accent and lilac brad. The paper flowers are Greenhouse brand and they have a cute little yellow button and water baubles. The background paper is CTMH petal and colonial white sponged on the edge with bamboo.

Imagine

Julie has a great scrap page on her blog. She really inspires me so I decided to make something similar using my photoshop.
Carter goes to the softball games with his parents. Jenn played ball in school and even pitched on a mens team a couple of years ago. Maybe he'll be a star someday.

Thank You

I've had this Impression Obsession stamp - Damask Flowers since Last Fall. It's been awhile since I've used it. I embossed the main image with gold detail powder on White Daisy. The Background paper is CTMH - Free Spirit. I used small shiny gold grads and tied an ivory ribbon around the stem. The image is colored with Twinkling H20's.

This angle of the picture shows you the shimmer of the embossed image and twinkling H20.

Mom

My Mom lives in North Idaho and I only get to see her a few times a year. It's not a quick drive to visit so it doesn't happen very often. Its been hard on the family having her live so far away and I know its hard on her. She's coming to visit this week! We're all exited for her to get here and visit. My Handyman has a pot roast waiting in the freezer for her. He says she cooks the best pot roast he's ever had! She's a fabulous cook and It's not often I get to devour her cooking . I love her newest post. A few things I've learned about life... All so true! Go visit her and tell her Hi.

Edited: I just found out today is National Parents Day... :)

Weekend

I had Carter 3 days over the weekend while Eric and Jenn went camping. It was his first time spending the night. We pretty much just played with toys, read books and ate! It was a fun time. OH! and he started crawling. I know his parents have been waiting forever for this to happen. He has this funny little army crawl that he pulls himself around, and he's very fast at it. Friday night he decided to get up on his knee's and move around. He thought it was pretty funny. He'd crawl a little then stop and laugh. He's such a cutie.

Creative Photography #6

Our skies here in Boise have been pretty smokey the last couple of weeks. Its been blowing in from the California fires and settling in the valley. I noticed last week a couple of times driving in to work how blood red the sunrise was. I had Friday off so I grabbed my camera and snapped the morning sun from my back porch. This is about 6:30 AM and straight from the camera. No alterations. I decided to enter it in Rogers Creative Photography contest. Check it out HERE

Photobucket
I used my CTMH stamps set C1277 - Catch of the Day. Paper is X7070B - Simple pleasures which include CS colors Cocoa, Desert Sand and Twilight. I colored the fish and fly with my twinkling H20's and wrapped the image with some string.

Relax

I've mentioned before that I have a hard time making masculine cards. I don't have very many stamps for this theme. Now that I work with a bunch of men in IT.. I've got to look for new stamps and new ideas.
Photobucket
I created this card using MFT - Lets Hear it for The Boys stamps. The CS is CTMH Chocolate, Twilight, and Sweet Leaf. Paper is X7092 B - Good Times. I stamped my image on white, then cut it out and attached to the striped paper. I colored with my prisma color pencils. I punch stars from one of the papers and embellished with some twill ribbon, a large brad and a bitty brad.

Fresh Cuts

This is my first attempt to create an acrylic card. It doesn't fold flat so it was kind of hard to stamp on it with my black stazon ink and not smear the ink.
Photobucket
Photobucket
I stamped a couple of silhouette stamps and Wish Big sentiment on the outside of the Acrylic. I then attached some CTMH White Daisy Just Blooms Z1300 that I colored with my twinkling H20's and emblished with Robins Next - Flame baubles. I attached some buttons to the bottom.
The inside of the card is made with CTMH X7090B Silhouette paper. The image is stamped with SU - Fresh Cuts and colored a couple of the flowers with my Twinkling H20's I finished off with some black gingham ribbon.

My Handyman

My Handyman doesn't understand blogging. He tells me I better never post a of picture of him on here! I sneak a couple in here and there but not alot. Everytime I try and take a picture of him he dodges the camera, then gives me the evil eye. A couple of days ago I told him if he won't let me take a picture of his face then I would just take one of the back of his head. Of course he doesn't want the entire world to know that his hair is thinning and you can see some skin. He figured if he made this gesture that would stop me! He should know better by now!! Isn't he special???

Swan Falls

Here are more pictures as promised. When you leave Kuna south on Swan Falls Road you're in the middle of the hot barren desert. About 15 mile south you reach Initial Point . Established in 1867, a US Geological Survey brass marker on the top of this prominent lava butte is the starting survey point in the State of Idaho. Further South you enter the Birds of Prey Conservation area at Dedication Point.
Photobucket
If you take Kuna Caves road west.. You can explore a huge underground cave, which is basically a huge air bubble from the lava flows, underground. The Bureau of Land Management discourage the public from exploring them. But the locals all know where the Kuna Caves are.
About 23 Miles south of Kuna you reach the Snake River Canyon. You drive down a windy road and enter a park to view the dam. There is a small park for picnicing and fishing. If you head West you can drive down a dirt road along the river, entering further into the Canyon. You can catch Bass, Rainbow Trout, and Catfish in the river. There is also Sturgeon but they are protected and cannot be taken out of the river.
These pictures were taken at the top of the canyon and while we were picnicing in the park.
