Our skies here in Boise have been pretty smokey the last couple of weeks. Its been blowing in from the California fires and settling in the valley. I noticed last week a couple of times driving in to work how blood red the sunrise was. I had Friday off so I grabbed my camera and snapped the morning sun from my back porch. This is about 6:30 AM and straight from the camera. No alterations. I decided to enter it in Rogers Creative Photography contest. Check it out

Enjoy!

Beautiful! The other morning at lunch (about 3:45am) we had a blood moon. It was awesome, but I didn't have my camera, darn it!
The shame that the pollutants from fires 1000 miles away make for such a stunning picture. The color of sunset yet the sun is rising.
I hope your lungs stay safe!
WOW, spectacular! We have bushfires around my home each summer and get these bizarre sunrises and sunsets too. Best wishes in the contest.
cheers

wow! wow! wow!
I've seen a few fire generated skies around on other blogs - always seems so ironic to me that so much damage in one place can create so much beauty in another.
This is an amazing photo
Incredibly beautiful! I have to agree with dianne's comment. It is ironic indeed that the destruction and devastation of those fires had a side effect of creating such beautiful skies.
Love sunrises and sunsets...
Good luck
Wow thats a pretty sunrise my friend...
Even though it really isn't a good thing, smoke can do some amazing things to the skies above us. Great shot!
Good luck in the contest!
All I can say is "Oh Wow!" :D
What a stunning sunrise!
Just too bad it was caused by smoke from destructive wild fires.
Beautiful photo. I love shooting sunsets and, occasionally, sunrises.
Good luck in Roger's contest!
Michelle I just wanted to come back and say I really love this photo and it had my vote!
