Silly Grin

Who can resist this silly grin?   Kendall is 16 months already and is as cute as can be. Being a Grammy is the best!

Week 34 - Senses

The theme over at My Four Hens Poject52 is the 5 senses.  We could choose one or many of the senses. I had my Grandkids yesterday and after their naps, we went to the playground at the park.   There is nothing better that listening to children’s laughter and watching all the fun.  One more reason it’s so awesome being a Grammy.

This picture is a little fuzzy but I love it.  Carter is sliding down the slide as I took it.

Vrooooom!

Kimmie has the cutest stamps..  I couldn’t resist buying this one from the set Going Places.  Isn’t it just the cutest?  It makes me dream of a warm summer day cruising  down the road just relaxing with no cares or worries.

Week 33 – Funky

The theme for week 33 for Project52 over at My Four Hens is Funky.   I chose this picture of our Young Woman’s Leader.  During this activity with the Young Women,  we made and modeled dresses made out of newspaper, tissue paper and tape.   It was a really fun night.   It’s kind of fun to be silly and funky on occasion.

Week 32 – Details

Theme for Project52 over at My Four Hens  for week 32 is Details.   This is a shot of some of the details from Nicole and Greg’s wedding.  The colors were fabulous.  I helped put together the center pieces.   What fun it was stacking the limes against the edge of the jar and then filling with crystal pebbles.  The room was pretty dark and hard for picture taking cut I got some great shots.  Here is the end result.

Week 31 - Wildcard

I’m catching up on my Project52 posts over at My Four Hens.  The theme for week 31 is wildcard; meaning I can choose anything I want.   I choose to share the baby hummingbirds that were nesting in my tree.  It seemed to take forever for them to hatch. The egg shells were about the size of a jelly bean.  There were three babies.  The nest is about the size of a golf ball.  They no longer sit in the nest but I see them often buzzing around the back yard and getting a drink out of the feeder. I hope they come back next spring and nest again. I'm going to plant more colorful flowers to attract them.

Week 30 – Euphoria

My Handyman and I went on a road trip to Minnesota the first week of July.   One of the destinations was in Fargo, ND for  his Niece’s wedding.   Week 30 project52 theme over at My Four Hens is Euphoria.  I know that Nicole and Greg were experiencing Euphoria that afternoon.  They make a beautiful couple.

A Friend Loveth

This page  for my July Scrap*Life*Journal class was fun to make. My hands were covered in ink and glue by the time I was done.

IMG_3672_edited-1

First I found a base sheet of cardstock.   This one just happens to be a piece from one of my favorite designers.  Cosmo Cricket.   And on a side note…. Did you know that many Scrapbook paper designers now have fabric lines for quilting?

I wrote out my verse using my Zig marker on the sheet and colored it in with Copic Markers.

IMG_3673

Flowers are cut out using old book pages and a die cut by Tim Holtz.  I spritzed them with a couple shades of Glimmer Mist.  After they were dry, I glued them to my sheet then outlined the edges and distressed with distress ink – black soot.

IMG_3671_edited-1

I wanted to do a little something more so I punched out some circle punches of white cardstock.  I scraped the edges to grunge them up.  I then scrunched them all up, opened them up and spritzed with Glimmer Mist.   I then glued them to the flower centers and squeezed them together as I was gluing.  It helps that the paper was a little damp.   I then added a few dabs of distressed stickles.  I hope you like the end result.

And Many More

I decided to share this card with you today… You’ll see another page from my Scrap*Life*Journal class tomorrow.   You know I can change my mind..  and may again :)

I created this card using my Silhouette SD and a cutting file from SVG Cuts.

IMG_3667_edited-1

This card is strictly made from die cuts.  No stamping today.  I did distress the edges and add a couple of embellishments.

IMG_3669_edited-1

If you have the Designer Edition of your Silhouette you can cut SVG cuts.   You can also draw your own designs. That takes a little practice though to figure it out.   I don’t do it enough that I am continually referring back to the classes I took over at Jessica Sprague given by Kerri Bradford.

IMG_3668_edited-1

I just pulled a bunch of scraps out of my scrap drawer, cut the images and assembled.

Celebrate Your Inner Artist

I finished a couple of pages for my July Scrap*Life*Journal class. Stay tuned for more tomorrow.

IMG_3675_edited-1

I doodled, journaled, used Copic Markers, Chipboard, Craft ink, Rub-on, stamps etc…

IMG_3677_edited-1

IMG_3676_edited-1

The month of July continues on with the Friendship theme.   This cover sheet for the month doesn’t have all of the distressing that I usually do.   It has more of a crisp, clean look.  The black pen I use is a Zig pigment marker.

PS… Is it Fall yet?  We are still near 100 every day and the air is so smoky I haven’s seen the Boise Foothills or Owyhee Mountains from my house for days. Idaho is burning up!

Art Studio

Is it a studio?  Is it a craft room?  What do you call yours?   I stamp and make cards in here.  I doodle in here.  I draw in here.  I tolepaint in here.  I do art journaling in here.  I study in here.  I do digital scrapbooking in here.   I edit photo’s in here.   I read in here.  I watch movies in here. I sew in here.  And on and on the list goes.   What do you call the room where you create?

Last week we moved the old armoire from the master bedroom into my craft room.  We purchase a new dresser and I thought I could use this to help organize my space.   In other words….  hide stuff behind closed doors.   Notice that I had to move my desk over so the Ink Stack holding all of my ink pads and markers is no longer centered?  The anal in me is trying to get over that because I am NOT going to move the shelf. AND..  the button shelf is no longer centered over the little cabinet under it!  OH the PAIN I’m going through….   It’s my room…  Seriously…  I don’t care..  I have a room and it’s easy access to me.  Here are a few pictures at different angles.   The room is painted champagne.

The new Autumn/Winter Idea Book & Catalog just came out.   It is fabulous!  Wow!  There are so many new and exciting things.  There are new alcohol markers. When you order, you get two coordinating shades; dark and light.  I am really excited to see how these compare to Copic Markers which are also alcohol ink. (Wonderful for blending)

ExclusiveProduct.ashx

There are new mini pigment pads. There is a new Cricut Artiste Collection cartridge.  CTMH Cricut cartridges are made exclusively for CTMH.  It includes 700 images, Font, Shapes and 3-D items.  There are 3 size D stamp set and 3 12X9 Dimensional Elements in coordination shapes in the kit.   The die cuts coordinate with many stamps.  The stamps are outlined in red so that you know that they coordinate with a die cut.   Don’t forget the Art Philosophy Collection cartridge is still available, too.

The paper packets are to die for!   If  I must choose my favorites they are…
