Easter Visitors

My Family came over for Easter dinner.  I was surprised and happy that Jenn came with baby Kendall..  She had her C-section Thursday and went home Saturday.

Kendall is 3 days old here

Not only did Carter help make the whip cream,  he had the first taste.  Yum!

Enjoy!

Favorite Peeps

I decided to make these fun little Easter baskets this year instead of cards.  I’ve been so busy I didn’t have time to hardly do anything……   Sigh!

I bought these adorable A Muse stamps and got creative.  I made a little box which was created using my ScorePal. Then attached a little ribbon handle.

and…… I stuffed them full of all kinds of little candies.

Products used:  CTMH – Breeze.  Orange ribbon. Watermelon paper. Ocean CS. Copic markers. SU punch. A Muse – For Peep’s Sake.

Hoppy Spring!

Today was supposed to rain!  It was kind of gray and dreary this morning. Then …. Mr. Sunshine showed his bright and smiling face and warmed the earth.   What a beautiful day it turned out to be.

And…..  I have one tulip in full bloom…. more on the way!

I went to lunch with My Mama and daughter,  went bike shopping then hung out at Hobby Lobby for awhile.    Mom and I sat out in the sun for awhile while Janelle was riding bikes around the block.  How fun is that?  Glorious!

I stamped this pretty little card a couple of weeks ago.   It’s from the CTMH stamp set – D1456 Sensational Season.

I bought the pretty little heart shaped fabric yo yo from MishMash. Go visit her at her Etsy shop.

Products used:   CTMH – D1456 – Sensational Season. Orange, Chocolate. Copic markers. My Minds Eye. Stickles. Nestabilities. Buttons. Twine. YOYO heart. Distress ink – Vintage Photo. Nestabilities.

It's spring fever.  That is what the name of it is.  And when you've got it, you want - oh, you don't quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so!  ~Mark Twain

My Favorite Peeps

I created this for one of the Viva La Verve sketches.   (I am way behind!)   I’m pretty sure I won’t catch up either.    That’s ok though.   I’ll just keep pressing forward.  This Verve stamp set – Chicks Rules is so fun and has some great sentiments!

I pulled out some old paper out of my stash to make this card.  It’s from a retired pack by CTMH.  The colors are fabulous.  I need to use up my old paper. There were always so many new designs the older ones get put to the bottom of the stack.    GOAL -  use up and enjoy the older papers.

Products used:   CTMH – Whoops A Daisy. Sunkiss Yellow, Watermelon, Ocean. Copic markers. Stickles, Rhinestones. Distress ink – Vintage photo. Verve – Chicks Rule!

Moda

I’ve been working on a quilt for my new Granddaughter for several weeks.  I found this fabulous Moda fabric at Craft Warehouse.   Fabric is not cheap..  It was 8.99 a yard  and I bought 7 yards,  plus thread and Flannel to line it with.  I love the bright colors!

I am not much of a seamstress.   I bought my Singer sewing machine back in the early 1980’s and paid $75 for it brand spankin new.    It only has 5 stitches.   Very basic..  I sewed basic clothes for my kids when they were toddlers, hemmed pants and mended clothes with it.  I’ve even stitched on my cards with it.  One of these days I would like to get a new machine and make some more quilts.  Just what I need!  Another addiction!

One more washing to soften it up, then I’ll snip all of the loose thread and it’s ready for her arrival…  Just under two weeks!   I hope she likes it.

Dreams Come True

I typed almost this entire post on Windows Live Writer which is a wonderful tool for blogging.    Well…  When I was trying to insert a picture I got an error and the program closed.   DANG IT!!!  I was almost done, too…  and this is going to be a long post with a lot of pictures.
It’s been a while since I’ve made one of these cards.  I don’t even know what the technical term for it is.    A friend gave me one for my birthday which sparked my interest to make one. I just know it’s a lot of work and now I remember why I haven’t make one for awhile.

Start out with a 12 X 5.5 inch piece of cardstock for your card base.   Score on the long edge at 2”, 4”, 8” and 10”.    On the 5.5” side, cut at 1.5” and 4” between the two end 2” score lines.   Is that confusing or what?
Mountain and Valley fold each score line.   Study the pictures and you’ll understand what I mean.

I measured each little section individually to get the sized of paper I wanted.

Products used:   CTMH – X7135B – Wings. D1470 – Dreams Come True. Vintage Berry. Hollyhock. Pear.  Grey Wool. Stickles. Buttons. Twine. Distress ink – Vintage Photo. Vellum. Embosslets. Rhinestones. Stickles. Seam binding ribbon. MS punch. Nestabilities.
