Constant Companion

Can you guess what is always in hand at Grammy’s house?    No kidding…   He sticks it in his pocket while going potty. Eats with it and even tries to sleep with it.

Best $1.97 I ever spent!

It really cracks me up how the instinct kicks in and he tries to aim.    He’s quite the hunter.

                                                                     Of hugs and kisses.

Sometimes Tanner is the target but he doesn’t seem to mind.

I have him again this next weekend.  We may take a day trip to a farm.  We’ve been having weather well into the 90’s.   Odd for this time of the year.

Turn off music above and enjoy!

Paper Roses

Remember the pretty little paper roses that I shared with you a couple of days ago?  Well…  I put them to good use.  I stamped a flower with my CTMH Sorbet ink from the Verve stamp set - Dream Big, embellished it with orange stickles, then cut it out and attached a paper rose to use for the center of the card.

Every time I say paper roses…  I think of the song made popular by Marie Osmond way back in 1973.  You can find it on YouTube

I’m loving this new Clear Arts Stamps set, Bathing Beauties.  All the images are vintage and OH so Fun!   I used Julee’s  Mojo Monday challenge for a template.

I pulled out some October Afternoon Thrift Shop and Report Card papers and distressed them a little.  I love that look!

About half of my cards I decorate the inside. Just a little extra touch.

ALOT

This subject has been brought up a lot of times over the last couple of week.  It’s been a big discussion at work, and I’ve read about it on blogs and tweets.   Grammar. Spelling. Proper English.     I have mixed feelings on the subject.    We all text and have learned to shorten and abbreviate words.   We have personal blogs that I think are.. well…  personal….    I should be able to do anything I want.. It’s not being graded and quite frankly.. I don’t have the time to be the patrol officer.  Sometimes the improper spelling is done on purpose.  Sometimes slang words are inserted.

One word in question is,  ALOT.   I know the proper way to spell it is a lot (two words)   but it is so common to spell as one word that the dictionary has added it as an alternate way to spell it..    A friend recently sent me THIS blog post… It is over at Hyper Hole and a Half  and I find it quite funny.   You can’t do anything about it so seriously, Lighten up.  Be Silly. Enjoy life. De-Stress.

Now on to the important stuff….

I’ve been making a lot of cards lately using up scraps.   I have one container that I throw all of my scraps in.  Man they sure do accumulate fast!  I’ve bought my first few sets of stamps from Just Right Stampers.  I love them.. I can hardly wait to ink more of them.

Do one thing every day that makes you happy.  Isn’t that good advice?

Notice that pretty little hand crocheted flower under the antique brad?

Products used:   Just Right – Kaleidoscope.  CTMH – Indian Corn blue, Olive. SU papers. Nestabilities. SU – Antique brads. Maya Road chipboard. Craft ink. Clear emboss powder. Maya Road Pin. Hand crocheted flower. Seam binding ribbon. Distress ink - Vintage photo. Alot of love.

Birthday Wishes

This is another one of Mo’s fabulous digital images.  They’re so much fun!  I colored the image with my Copic markers.   I think the reason that I like her so much is because she has hair just like mine.

I love her pretty party dress…   and the pooch is obviously her best friend .

I created these little paper roses that I was originally going to attach to the card.   They’re made out of the same polka dot paper as the inside of the card.   I decided they didn’t quite match, so I decided to punch and distress some circles and add buttons instead.

Products used:   Mo’s Digital image. CTMH – Key to My Heart, Juniper, Sorbet. Verve – Circular Sayings. Shimmerz. Buttons. Twine. SU punches. Distress ink – Vintage Photo.

In the Air

There is a change in the air.   The last couple of days have been a little cooler.   Yesterday it was overcast and we even received a little bit of rain last night.    I was standing outside looking an my large maple trees…

and  was thinking to myself….  It won’t be long and this will be happening…

I love Fall!   I love the crisp air.  I love the colors.  It’s time for college Football.   GO BSU!!
I ordered this pretty ribbon from Prairie Bird Boutique on ETSY.  The colors are perfect for Fall cards.

I started cleaning out my painting workspace (third stall of the garage)  and made some Winter project plans.
Here are some projects from Winter’s past.   I used to paint quite a few items and had a space at a local Christmas Bizarre.   I just don’t have the time anymore, so now I paint a few custom orders and paint a few for gifts.

Somewhere in between projects, I’ll squeeze in Christmas Cards.   What do you have planned this Fall?
