Busy Hands

I made a few cards the last couple of weeks.   I didn’t get out my good camera and take any pictures.  (what was I thinking?)      I did snap a few for instagram as I was creating.   This will give you an idea of what I created.

Poppy Birthday

I sat down last weekend and spent some quality time in my craft room.  I’m working on a couple of mini scrapbook projects. I’ll be sharing those in the future.

I also made a couple of cards.

IMG_0596_edited-1

I’m still not very good at quick and simple.  I love all of the details and embellishments. There is just something about all of the layering that I love; and of course the distressed edges, too.

Grief

I can’t imagine what it must be like to lose a spouse,  especially when they are young and it is unexpected.   My heartfelt sympathy goes out to my friend Judy.

A Good Day

September 1st seems to be a popular day for birthdays. I know several people with birthdays today.   26 years ago I gave birth to my youngest daughter, Ashley.  It just happened to be Labor Day Monday.   Life has never been the same.

I found this idea on a Youtube video by Fabulous Artsy.  You can watch it HERE. I used the CTMH stamp set C1511 – Love Blooms and stamped randomly over the white cardstock.  I then used my water pen and water colored the images with a couple of shades of ink.

After it was dry, I added a little glitter.   I heard recently that some girls are born with glitter in their veins.

Isn’t the sentiment awesome?    Celebrate the day that gave me you…   It came from a Valentine set but I thought it was perfect for my daughter.

Wonderful Wishes

I made a card!  Shout for joy!   It was pretty simple and quick but at least I accomplished something.

IMG_3641_edited-1

I tore out a couple of old pages from an old book. (I find at a thrift shop)  I then used my Beautiful Blooms die cuts to cut out a couple of shapes.   I then stamped a polka dot image using the coordinating stamp set on each flower.

They are distressed a little bit with Vintage Photo ink, then layers and topped with a button.

I really love this color combo.  Aqua and Red.   Oh so pretty!

Genuine

I love these colors.   When I put this card together it made me think of a warm, comfy quilt. The papers are from the Authentique set – Genuine.

IMG_3494_edited-1

I cut a bunch of coordinating 1x1 pieces of paper, scraped and distressed the edges then attached them to the card base.

I stamped, distressed and cut out the flowers then layered them before attaching to the card.

Humming Along

I have a hummingbird feeder in my backyard.   We’re out in the desert and don’t often see hummingbirds.   Last summer I spotted one feeding.  This year I haven’t see any.  :(   Those darn little elusive birds.   My Handyman see’s one every day.  We even have a tiny little nest in the tree next to the feeder.

I remember my when I was a child my dad had the prettiest flower gardens.  The hummingbirds loved the bright colorful zinnias.   Maybe I need to put more flowers in the back yard to attract more?

I created this card using the Flourishes set – Humming Along.  I love it..

It is colored with Copic markers.   I love the Teresa Collins papers that I used.
