Humming Along

I have a hummingbird feeder in my backyard.   We’re out in the desert and don’t often see hummingbirds.   Last summer I spotted one feeding.  This year I haven’t see any.  :(   Those darn little elusive birds.   My Handyman see’s one every day.  We even have a tiny little nest in the tree next to the feeder.

I remember my when I was a child my dad had the prettiest flower gardens.  The hummingbirds loved the bright colorful zinnias.   Maybe I need to put more flowers in the back yard to attract more?

I created this card using the Flourishes set – Humming Along.  I love it..

It is colored with Copic markers.   I love the Teresa Collins papers that I used.

The Tiniest Thing…

Hummingbirds are so fascinating.   Such tiny little creatures.  So fast. So beautiful.    I have a hummingbird feeder in my back yard which occasionally attracts a few. I think I need to plant a pretty flower garden full of bright smelly flowers to really attract them.

Flourish makes the prettiest detailed stamps.  This one, Humming Along, is no exception.

Products used:   Flourishes – Humming Along. Basic Grey – Porcelain Paper.  Copic markers. Vintage photo – distress ink. Stickles. Ribbon. Brad jewel.

As I have loved you,
Love one another.
This new commandment:
Love one another.
By this shall men know
Ye are my disciples,
If ye have love
One to another.

Berry Season

Berries have been on sale all around the Treasure Valley.   I’ve been packing fresh strawberries in my lunch everyday for a couple of weeks.  YUMMO!    Today I bought blackberries, strawberries and raspberries.

This fun Flourishes stamp is perfect for the season.   October Afternoon – Thrift Shop is another of my favorite vintage style papers.

I’m thinking now that the Clear Jel that I ordered is in… I may just have to make some freezer jam this weekend..  I only have a couple left from last year.  Who doesn’t love freezer jam?

Products used:   October Afternoon – Thrift Shop. Flourishes – Strawberries. CTMH – Cranberry. Nestabilities. SU – Circle punches. SU – edge punch. Copic markers. Distress ink – Vintage photo. Sewing tool. Zig pen. Rhinestones

Clematis and Butterflies

Isn’t this Flourishes stamp set just gorgeous?  I made this card for a friend that has a spirit just as beautiful!

I colored the image with copic markers.   I then cut it out using my micro tip scissors and Exacto knife.  It took awhile but well worth the effort.

I made this for a challenge over at The Sweet Stop.  This challenge has ended but they have a new one going.

Products used:   Flourishes – Clematis & Butterflies. Cosmo Cricket. Copic Markers. Stickles. Distress ink – Vintage photo. PTI CS. Nestabilities. SU punch.

Make a Wish

Remember the fun days as a child and finding all of the dandy lions going to seed?   I would pick them and blow them and laugh as the seeds floated away in the wind.

When my kids were young… we called them wishes.   Every time they saw one they would blow the seeds and make a wish…    Now when I see one of the bright yellow flowers popping up in my grass I cringe..   They’re kind of pretty… they’re even edible.   Could it be possible that they’re God’s favorite flower since they multiple so quickly and are planted everywhere?    I still grin when I see one that is going to seed and want to run to it and blow a wish into the wind…. then reality hits and I think of the ‘Weed’ that will grow..   I want to think like a child again!

Products used:  Cosmo Cricket. October Afternoon. Flourishes- Kids at Play. Distress ink – Vintage photo. Brad. CTMH – Cranberry, brad, C1234 – Simple Stitches. SU punch. Buttons. Twine.

Day Dream Believer

I’ve been a fisherman since I was a small child…  probably as soon as I could hold a rod in my hand…  Dad had me out fishing…  I remember riding in Dad’s truck to the pond, creek, river, lake, reservoir…  Whatever sounded like a good place that day and go fishing.  He loved gathering all of us kids and off we would go..  Mom would go, too on the day long adventures.…  When us kids grew older, it was our chore to clean the fish out in the back corner of the yard…  There was a hose attachment near the pasture. I think we probably threw all of the fish guts to the chickens?   There was a big gooseberry bush and we could munch on berries as we cleaned the fish.

I can picture myself sitting on a dock… turning golden in the warm sun, watching that bobber intensely hoping it would disappear..

Products used:   Bo Bunny. Flourishes – Kids at Play. Buttons. Nestabilities. Twinkling H20’s. Distress ink – Vintage photo.

I created today’s card for the MoJo Monday challenge.   Check it out over HERE.

There is Sunshine in my Soul

We have been blessed with the most beautiful Fall weather! Can you believe its November and we’re still having 70 degree days?   My roses are still blooming.  Amazing!

This week will bring high 40’s and a little bit of rain.  I’m not going to complain.  It’s time for the change.

The warm weather reminds me of warm yellow sunflowers.  I bought this Flourishes stamp set a couple of months ago.   A Friends birthday is a perfect opportunity to ink it up.

I don’t know about you but I am going to enjoy every little bit of sunshine that I can before the snow flies.

Pause the music above and enjoy!

There is Sunshine in My Soul Today

There is sunshine in my soul today,
  More glorious and bright
Than glows in any earthly sky,
  For Jesus is my light.
    O there's sunshine, blessed sunshine,
    While the peaceful, happy moments roll;
When Jesus shows His smiling face
There is sunshine in my soul.
There is music in my soul today,
  A carol to my King;
And Jesus, listening, can hear
  The song I cannot sing.
There is springtime in my soul today,
For when the Lord is near
The dove of peace sings in my heart,
  The flowers of grace appear.
There is gladness in my soul today,
And hope, and praise, and love,
For blessings which He gives me now,
  For joys laid up above.

Their new album is fabulous!!

Imagine

Imagination, also called the faculty of imagining, is the ability of forming mental images, sensations and concepts, in a moment when they are not perceived through sight, hearing or other senses.

Imagination is the work of the mind that helps create fantasy. Imagination helps provide meaning to experience and understanding to knowledge; it is a fundamental facility through which people make sense of the world, and it also plays a key role in the learning process.

Imagination is the faculty through which we encounter everything. The things that we touch, see and hear coalesce into a "picture" via our imagination.

Imagination is an experimental partition of the mind used to create theories and ideas based on functions. Taking objects from real perceptions, the imagination uses complex IF-functions to create new or revised ideas. This part of the mind is vital to developing better and easier ways to accomplish old and new tasks. These experimental ideas can be safely conducted inside a virtual world and then, if the idea is probable and the function is true, the idea can be actualized in reality. Imagination is the key to new development of the mind and can be shared with others, progressing collectively.
