Happy Halloween

Well.. today is the day when all of the little goblins come out.   Are you prepared for  trick-or-treaters to visit?   A lot of the churches in our area do a Trunk or Treat, which I find kind of strange.   This is entirely my own option and I may feel differently if I had little ones at home.    They all drive to the church and trick or treat there instead of walking around their neighborhoods.    I’m not sure why..  Is it more convenient for the parent?  Is it because you feel safer with the people you know from church?  Is it because you don’t know your neighbors and if not, why not?   What about the rest of the neighbors that don’t attend the church and their kids feel left out because they don’t have many houses to visit?   I have a friend that has to drive across town to go to another neighborhood because of this reason..   Do churches that have Trunk or Treat make it a community event?   What happens in your town?   I love having the kids come to my door.  I love to see my Grandkids all dressed up. They are so cute and sweet in their little costumes.    As long as I have little goblins knocking at my door, I’ll be passing out candy.

So….  here are some of the Halloween cards I made.  I used a variety of stamps.  From CTMH, Kraftin Kimmie, and a miscellaneous  set that I bought at Michaels.  Some are colored with Copic markers; some with twinkling H20’s.  Some have glitter, some do not.  I even embossed quite a few of them..   I have a gallon ziplock bag full of a variety to share.

Have fun tonight, be safe and most of all…..

Abundant Blessings

This time of year I tend to think about all of my blessings.  I truly have led a blessed life. Not easy by any means; but blessed.   I’ve learned from hardships endured and will probably continue learning.  I realize others have had harder struggles than I have, but I’m still here and I’m still treading forward.

Lizard Butte

A few weekends ago while on an afternoon drive with My Handyman, we drove down Sunnyslope past the orchards and vineyards. We crossed the Snake River into Marsing and stopped at a small farmers market in the park.  We bought a bag of fresh picked grapes and I stood along the river and snapped this picture of Lizard Butte. Do you see it?  The giant lizard? This part of the Snake River is wide and calm. During the Summer,  Marsing hosts a few sprint boat races. It's such a peaceful area to visit.

Tagged

I was reading a blog the other day and she had posted a card using tags created into a banner.  I tried to remember in my mind what it looked like.   This is what I came up with.

These are just little manila tags covered with paper then cut.   Aren’t the buttons fun?   I was digging through my black button jar and found this awesome oval button.   My heart jumped.  It’s perfect!

Products used:   My Minds Eye – Lost and found Blush.  PTI – Birthday Bash Sentiments. Rick Rack. Ribbon. Buttons. Twine. Tags. Circle punch. Scallop punch. Distress ink – vintage photo.

Sweet and Simple

It’s not very often that I make a simple card…  they still take time but I like the sleek simple look of them.

I create most of my cards in the evening.   It’s dark out when I grab the Canon so the  pictures  don’t always turn out the best.

I used a plain white card base and stamped the leaf image as the background.   I then stamped the flower image three times,  used ink and a blending pen to color, then cut them out.

I always think something is missing and I need to add more when I create this type of card.   Some times less is more…

Products used:   SU- Growing Green.  CTMH – Pear. Smoothie. Blending pen. PTI – Botanical Silhouettes.

Blissful

Grey and yellow is currently one of my favorite color combo’s.   It seems to be very popular in home decor, clothing and of course paper crafting.

40 Sucks!

I made this fun little gift for a co-worker.    40 really doesn’t suck.  It’s a great age!   I wish I was 40 again!   Next year I’ll be the big          5  OH !   It’s just another number.   I’ve been fortunate so far in my life.   Age has never really bothered me.   I have been blessed.
