Dream Big

This time of year there are so many dreams floating around in the atmosphere..   Dreams of sugar plums dancing in our heads.  Dreams of Family gatherings.  Dreams of a quiet peaceful shopping experience.  Dreams of our favorite things.  Dreams of that special gift from Santa.   There is nothing wrong with hopes and dreams.   I dream of a world living in love and harmony..   Is that because I’m a 60’s child?   Remember this TV commercial for Coca Cola? (pause player above)

Well I made this Birthday Card and the sentiment on it says… “Dream Big”…

Products used:   My Minds Eye – Honey Cake. Spellbinders. Verve – Words of Wisdom. Small Phrases. Gelly Roll – Copper star. Button. Twine. Distress ink – vintage photo. PTI – Die – rickrack

OH Baby!

Yay!  My Handyman hung the treasure I found.  It’s the old wood door cut in half .  It’s probably close to 4 feet tall.   I love it!

Now I’m ready to pull out all of my Christmas Decor.  I’m ready to celebrate the Birth of our Savior..  and I’m ready to shout Merry Christmas to everyone!

PS… Does anyone have time to come decorate for me?  ;}

Consuming

This is what has been consuming my time and taking longer than anticipated.   It will be an advent calendar.  I finished gluing everything together and the base coating.  I am going to be putting Christmas paper on the front of each little box and will paint a Nativity in the middle..   Hopefully I’ll finish by next week.

Sometime this weekend I need to make 4 cards, too…   then I’ll have a few more things to share with you..  Maybe I’ll sneak in another picture of the nativity once I get going on it.

Distressed

I love vintage, distressed and kind of grungy things.  I went to a little holiday bazaar last weekend and had to buy this for myself.  I really should be shopping for others!

It’s an old solid wood door cut in half.  The sections are painted with chalk paint.   (I need to buy an eraser and chalk).  Rustic hooks have been added at the bottom.

I am going to hang it in my entry.    It weighs a ton!   Don’t you just love it?   The lady is going to have a spring show and will email me.  She makes all kind of outdoor things, too.

Enjoy!

Falling Down, Gently Down

See the gently falling leaves…  I LOVE FALL! AMEN!    There is just something about the crisp clean air.  Sunshine during the day with just a little crispness to it.   The tree’s are changing colors and oh how amazing those colors are!

I created this Digital Scrapbook page using the November kit from Little Dreamer Designs. Pictures are from the Family photo shoot I took of my Son and his Family at Kathryn Albertson Park in Boise.

Beautiful Blooms

This isn’t my normal, detailed, frilly card…  I really like it though.. something about the white craft ink always catches my fancy.

I stamped the flowers on the Kraft CS with white craft ink.  It is sticky and thick so it shows up pretty well.  I then punched a few butterflies out; I stamped a few red flowers on the bottom layer of Kraft Cs.

I added a touch of designer paper and a few embellishments then layered that on top of the flower layer.    It is layered with dimensionals.  This is all attached to a white base.  I added a happy birthday that I hand wrote with a pigma pen on white; there is also a white scallop edge at the bottom.

Products used:   PTI – Beautiful Blooms 2. Basic Grey – Blush. CTMH White Craft ink, Tulip. Distress ink – Vintage photo. Sewing tool. Edge punch. Button. Twine. paper flowers. Butterfly punch. Kraft cs.

The {{H}} Family

Several days ago I took this fun family out for a photo shoot.  What a crazy day..  The weather was beautiful!  The cameras were out!   Groups were lined up waiting for spots.   I’ve read about it on other blogs and we’ve been talking about the crowds for about a month.   It would be hard as a professional to deal with this on a regular basis.  After all…. time is MONEY!  Luckily I just do a few here and there because I enjoy it.

They brought their Santa hats!  Preparing early for holiday pictures..… now that is my kind of people!   Don’t they all look great?

Blissful

Yesterday was my Daughter in law’s Birthday.   She just turned 30.  I wish I were just turning 30 again.  Well… I guess I don’t…  I’ve experienced and learned a lot since then.

I decided to make her this special birthday card.  I think it turned out pretty good. I created it using Authentique’s paper – Blissful.

I love the color combo.  Yellow and Grey with a touch of Pink and Black.

Products used:   Authentique – Blissful. Shapeabilites. Verve – Sunny Days. CTMH – Black. Copic Markers. Button. Twine. Seam binding ribbon. Sewing tool. Distress ink – vintage photo. Verve – tag die.

A Day of Fun

Wow!  I had a busy day today.  I attended my first holiday bazaar of the season this morning, went shopping with the middle child then had two photo shoots this afternoon.

It was a beautiful day in Idaho..   partly cloudy but chilly.

Here are a couple of silly shots of my Son’s Family. I bought this frame to take some fun shots with a few weeks ago and have been anxious to use it.  Of course the boys were being silly.   Carter is 4 and all boy!  If we could bottle up his energy we would be millionaires. I love his silly grin in the Family photo.

I’m still giggling over that silly grin… It's been a long day. I think I'll go climb under the quilts and read for awhile.

The Good Stuff

Time to share a digital scrapbook page.  If you’re interested in getting started with digital scrapbooking I highly recommend taking a class from Jessica Sprague. Sign up for her newsletter or read her blog and watch for her sale prices.   She usually has a sale going around the holidays.  I also recommend Photoshop Elements.  It is a great photo editing program that does so much more!  PSE10 is their newest version.

Where did it go?

Wow!  it’s November already…Where has the year gone?

Just a quick picture of the Grandkids on Halloween.   Carter was Batman and Kendall was Tinkerbell.    I stopped by their house on my way home so they wouldn’t have to drive clear out to my house.   I wish I would have had my good camera..  They’re so cute!

P.S.   Is it too early to change to a Christmas blog header and change to my Christmas music player?   Maybe in a couple of weeks :)
