The {B} Family

Saturday I took this adorable family out for some family photos.  Despite the rain,  the cold and some wiggly children,  I was able to get a few good shots.

I thought I would try this technique so that only the inside of the photo frame is in color.

Simply Divine

The last couple of cards have been simplified.   What is with all of the September and October birthdays?  I’ve been making cards like crazy and haven’t even thought about Halloween.   I’m pretty sure that is not happening.

IMG_4410

This card was very simple and quick.  I used a PTI ribbon die and several My Minds Eye papers.  All of the edges are inked and distressed.   I staggered and stacked them at various heights as I glued to the base.   Notice all of the rounded edges?  I haven’t done that for a while.

I finished it off with a birthday sentiment stamped on a die cut from Spellbinders Labels 17.

Products used:  My Minds Eye – Stella Rose.  Spellbinders – Labels 17.  Tim Holtz distress ink – vintage photo.  Corner punch.  CTMH garden green brads, chocolate ink. PTI - Birthday Sentiments. Sewing tool.

Finding Fall

I’ve been wanting to do one of these fun printers tray projects.   I found this one over at Kerry Bradford Studio.

I took the pictures to Office Depot to print on cardstock then cut out everything else using my Silhouette Cameo.

Each little picture is attached with a magnet (that way I can add more for other seasons)

I distressed all of the edges with Tim Holtz distress ink – vintage photo.

They sell these trays at places such as Archivers.   I purchased mine from 7 Gypsies.

I had a lot of fun creating this treasure.   Next I’ll be working on Christmas to put in it.

I Know It!

I created this page for my October Scrap*Life*Journal class.  It is from a talk I watched for October General Conference by Ann M. Dibb.   You can view it HERE.

It is quick and simple and only took me about 10 minutes to complete.

Indie Ginger

My Minds Eyes seems to be one of my favorite paper companies at the moment.   I’m loving their papers.  They seem a little retro and vintage.. Maybe that is why I am drawn to them .

IMG_4403_edited-1

This card is a little different for me..  A little sloppy and messy but I love how it turned out.   I used an old Hero Arts stamp that I dug out called Watercolor flowers.   I colored the rubber with SU watercolor crayons, then spritzed them with a little water and stamped on the white cardstock.  It is the same flower colored a little differently and stamped three times.

The shape is Spellbinders label 18 cut into three separate pieces. The two colored pieces were run through my Big Shot and embossed.

Fitting Creativity into your Life

September’s theme for my Scrap*Life*Journal class is fitting creativity into your life.    Sometimes this can be a challenge.  I have had different creative outlets throughout my life.  It all depends on what life stage you are in and what your interests are.  It is important to find time to do what you love.
