Goodbye My Friend

We had to say goodbye to Tanner today…  It’s a very sad day for us.   I’m going to share a few pictures of him over his 9 years as I tell the story.  He lived a Happy Spoiled Rotten life.

Sunday he started acting really weird and skittish.   Wilt took him to the Vet Monday and we found out that he has sudden blindness. We didn’t know why.   She said it would only take a few days and he should start adapting.

He was getting worse.   I could hardly get him to go outside.  I had to put the leash on him and drag him out.   Once outside he seemed to do a little better but I could hardly get him back inside the house.

Friday morning My Handyman noticed a hard lump on one of his ribs.   It was quite a large lump..  He made an appointment for this morning to take him in.

All day Friday he sat in the corner by the door shaking…   I had to drag him over to the carpet and he just laid in the exact spot all night not moving at all.

We took him to the Vet this morning prepared for the worse.    Since he had that large tumor on his rib, he probably had a tumor in his brain causing his sudden blindness.   She talked to us about quality of life.    He should have been calming down and moving around the house by now instead of getting worse.

We could have paid $1000 for an MRI to find out for sure but we decided we didn’t want him to suffer anymore.  If indeed he had a brain tumor it would have been very painful and would cause the shaking, too.    She told us we made the right decision.   We were with him when she gave him the shot to put him to sleep.   Even though it was very hard, it was nice to see him relax and settle down before the end.

Goodbye Poochie… We love you!

Lovely Lace

This is a little project I’ve been working on for a few weeks.    A pretty little lacy shawl, crocheted with ivory wool.    If you go to Lions Brand web site.. they have numerous free patterns.

We had such a beautiful evening the other night. I was sitting out on the patio enjoying it and my tree’s were full of little yellow birds flying all around.   Western Tanagers.  I tried taking a few photo’s but they were just too busy flying around and hiding behind leaves and branches.   Tanner was surprisingly mellow just laying on the lawn and watching them.  Usually he is running circles and trying to catch one, so I zoomed in on him.  Do you think he knows?

Dull… AKA Boring

You’ve got to believe me when I tell you… Life really isn’t that dull around here..

Contrary to popular belief!

I guess he's not as thrilled as I am about my new lens.

Beat the Heat

This technique (Storyboard) that I just learned over at Jessica Sprague is ok… but I probably won’t use it much.. It 14 x 7.. Larger than most places will print….

I like the end result though……

This is the day we were over 100 and I decided it was time to drag out the doggie pool! Tanner loves water and gets so excited. He runs circles and chases me as I drag the pool across the yard.. before I even get the hose out! It’s quite the adventure!! Its actually pretty cheap entertainment. I usually have to buy a new pool every year or two. They're only about $10. Well worth it!

He bites at the water! Lays down in the water! Drinks the water! Runs across the yard and jumps into the water! He’s funny! I get about as wet as he does! Every couple of minutes he stands up and shakes off, then lays right back down into the nice cool water.

Textures

If you don' already know... I like the old grungy look... and textures really make a photo look that way... Especially if you use old film textures, or coffee stains, or scratchy grunge textures. I found a few old textile textures, too! So much fun! You have to be careful on portraits? They have to be pretty subtle on a pretty face... I've used textures before but I've never layered them... Don't they look awesome

OH! I did photo masks too! You clip your photo to a mask and get these fun textured edges.

I'm In Love!

Wow! I’m really having fun with photo editing! Its amazing! I’ve been digging out all kinds of photo’s and adjusting them. Some old… some new!

Scissorbella went to New York City a few years ago; her Senior year of High School. They had a Class from Long Island that they kept in contact with all year and learned new things. The New Yorkers came to Idaho for a week and the Idaho kids went to New York for a week. Here are a few pictures she took while there. These were taken with her cheap little Kodak camera. They make me want to go visit!

Sorry if this seems like a lot of pictures! I did get a little carried away. I had to save the best for last!! We don’t have billboards like this anywhere in Boise!
