Photoshop Actions

Most photographers use some kind of editing program for their digital photos.  Photoshop is the #1 program.  I use Photoshop Elements.  It is perfect for my photo editing and my digital scrapbooking.

Most photographers use actions to help with their photo editing.  Florabella is a fabulous place to purchase some of these actions.  She has actions for both Elements and the full version of Photoshop.

I pulled out my tripod put on my 50mm lens and took a photo of myself so that I could experiment with some of these actions.  If you load the layers version you can adjust the layers to your own liking.

The Before picture is SOOC. The After picture is edited with a Florabella action.   The before picture looks pretty good… but editing adds so much more.

   Black and White                                Classic Vintage

   Drama                                                   Envy

  Rich Color                                              Timeless

   Vintage Spring                                     Wheat

Which edit do you like the best??  I think I like the TIMELESS action the best out of these samples.  Its part of the Florabella LUXE II set. If you get on her mailing list… She sends out fabulous coupons all the time.  I’ve never paid regular price for any of my actions.

I’ve always liked Black and White photo’s, too.

Enjoy!

Memories

I love driving around and looking at old things.   Old places.  Old towns. Old Graveyards.

I love reading the headstones; wondering what their story is.   You know everyone has a story, and if you knew their story you would probably love them. Everyone buried had a family.

When we went on our day trip to Placerville last weekend we stopped at the Cemetery there.  The headstones were so elaborate.  A lot of people born in other countries.  The old Cemeteries in the mountains amaze me.  I can’t imagine digging the hard packed soil on the side of a mountain.

These were probably 8 – 10 feet tall.

Love Is In The Air

Over the weekend I helped my DIL shoot a wedding.   It was quite the adventure.  Matt and Kristin make such a cute couple.

I’m not a professional photographer..  I do it more as a hobby.. and I really haven’t had a whole lot of time to study my camera..   I know quite a few of the manual settings… but have so much more to learn.

The Wedding took place at Gowen Field.  It was a bright, sunny day and not much shade. There were not many places to shoot pictures.  Pretty much everywhere had buildings or parking lots behind the subjects. Overall it turned out pretty good and I got quite a few good shots.   I can hardly wait to see how Jenn's turned out.

Lovely Lace

This is a little project I’ve been working on for a few weeks.    A pretty little lacy shawl, crocheted with ivory wool.    If you go to Lions Brand web site.. they have numerous free patterns.

We had such a beautiful evening the other night. I was sitting out on the patio enjoying it and my tree’s were full of little yellow birds flying all around.   Western Tanagers.  I tried taking a few photo’s but they were just too busy flying around and hiding behind leaves and branches.   Tanner was surprisingly mellow just laying on the lawn and watching them.  Usually he is running circles and trying to catch one, so I zoomed in on him.  Do you think he knows?

Mail Art

I’ve been reading Kelly’s blog for a few years now.  She creates beautiful art journaling pages..I love her doodling..    Imagine my surprise when I received this beautiful piece of Mail art a few days ago!

She sketched on a piece of water color paper, then it looks like she used her new watercolors to paint it?     She talks about them on her blog.

Thanks again Kelly!  You’re awesome!

Elvis Was Spotted at The Beach!

While in Newport we went shopping at the funnest little toy store.  It's called Sand Castle Toys.  The guy there was a big kid at heart.  He showed us all the fun toys and how they worked.  I picked out a few birthday presents for Carter while there.    While there, we decided to go visit the historic Nye Beach.    It was such a beautiful day!!

While walking on the path and viewing the ocean through the Sea Grass.....  we heard some music.    We walked back up the path and look who we spotted!!!  He was singing to a couple that was just newly married out on the beach.

After watching and being entertained for a few minutes...  we walked down to the beach. Great weather for getting a very nice sun burn!! (no matter how much sun screen you use!).

For more Watery Wednesday posts.....  Look   HERE.
