Will that be a single or double?

I’ve been working on some crochet projects for a couple of months.  I fit them in between other projects.  Usually when I’m sitting on the couch watching a movie or something.

My DIL does photography and I’ve been making her a couple of little props.  She wants to start taking infant pictures.   The stuff on ETSY is very expensive.  I found some patterns and they are pretty quick to make.

The little brown hats are double crocheted and worked up really quick.  I found this adorable button at Craft Warehouse and tied it on with a ribbon.

The pink and ivory stocking cap has a variety of stitches.  Single double and half double.

It’s hard to explain how small they are, but they fit on a newborn head.  I put this one on a bear just for an example.

I’ve also made a few little flowers.  They’re so quick and easy.  It’s hard to find the variegated thread.  I may have to order some on line.  I ended up using DMC floss for mine.

Each flower has a double layer of petals.   Won’t they look good on my cards?

Baskets of Fun

I wandered into a little local shop last week..  Knit One, Quilt two..   Good thing I don’t sew!  Wow!  What an adventure of goodness.  The most beautiful fabrics and quilts hanging everywhere.
I was on a hunt for some cotton yarn.   This is what I found.  They have a little manual machine that winds it into a ball.

I want some little bowls, or bins for my craft room to put some of the little random things in.   I couldn’t really find anything I liked so I decided to crochet some little bowls.  This is my first one.
Isn’t it cute?

I plan on making a few more,  probably a little larger than this one.  (Notice my little vintage jello molds?  They’re great for little buttons, brads, etc..)

Lovely Lace

This is a little project I’ve been working on for a few weeks.    A pretty little lacy shawl, crocheted with ivory wool.    If you go to Lions Brand web site.. they have numerous free patterns.

We had such a beautiful evening the other night. I was sitting out on the patio enjoying it and my tree’s were full of little yellow birds flying all around.   Western Tanagers.  I tried taking a few photo’s but they were just too busy flying around and hiding behind leaves and branches.   Tanner was surprisingly mellow just laying on the lawn and watching them.  Usually he is running circles and trying to catch one, so I zoomed in on him.  Do you think he knows?

Did you know that Vanna White (aka- wheel of fortune) is a huge knitting and crocheting fan?? She has all kinds of pattern books published and now has her own yarn! I just started this project last week. I'll show off the finished product at a later date...

Yarn Happy

Scissorbella decided she wanted me to teach her how to crochet. Last weekend the local craft store had yarn on sale. Perfect timing! We bought a few colors and then came the lessons. Its been awhile since I picked up a hook so I decided to make a few scarfs myself.
