In The Leafy Tree Tops

CHF released this fun new stamp set - Spring Tree's. I seen this fun idea in a stamp catalog and had to give it a try. I used the tree trunk from one of the CHF stamps and then punched a bunch of circles in various shades of green using my nestabilities. I then ran the circles through some of my cuttlebug embossing folders. I added a few colorful buttons and a pretty little butterfly.

I decided to make a lap quilt. This Granny Square is made with Vanna's Choice yarn. Linen, Cranberry and Taupe.

Did you know that Vanna White (aka- wheel of fortune) is a huge knitting and crocheting fan?? She has all kinds of pattern books published and now has her own yarn! I just started this project last week. I'll show off the finished product at a later date...

Joy in the Journey

There have been alot of scrapbooking sites focusing on the "All about ME theme" We as scrapbooker's tend to scrap about everything around us but don't take much time to focus on ourselves. Throughout the year, I am going to try to scrap a little more about myself so future generations will know me....

Photobucket

I used papers and embellishments from The Sweet Shoppe and Designer Digitals. PSE7. I lowered the saturation on my picture so there is just a hint of color. Then I added the stamped block, under the photo to give it the grunge look...

I love Digital Scrapping.. All you need is a good photo editing program. I recommend photoshop elements. I found some great tutorials on line. Some are free. Some you have to buy. The first one I bought was this one.. If you look at the far right of my blog, and down the sidebar.... if you scroll down... don't give up... it's there somewhere. You'll find a list of my favorite digital sites that I visit. Give it a try!

Special Olympics

This year, starting in February, the Special Olympics are being held in Idaho. I read a post this morning of a young Boise couple that are volunteering their time to be Delegation Liaisons. Courtney is trying to get lapel pins from all over the country to give to the delegates. I was reading Scissorbella's friend Brandy's blog and see that Courtney is one of Brandy's friends.. HHmm.... wonder if she knows Scissorbella? any way.. Read her post HERE to find out more about the Special Olympics and more about the Pins she is trying to collect. Grin and Bear It

This CHF set - Bear Hugs is fabulous. I found this site Sheet Load of Cards. Each month they have a newsletter with a template to make several cards using 3 or 4 sheets of paper. January 2009 makes 8 cards. This is a great way to make several cards at once. I use the same papers but embellish each one just a little different.

Photobucket

I used CTMH - Creative Basics - Emporium X5806. Pewter Designer Brads = Z1146. Chocolate, Colonial White CS. Twinkling H20's. PTI ribbon - Chocolate twill. I sponged and distressed all of the edges.

Oceans of Love

Who doesn't love the ocean? Its such a calming place to visit. Nothing better than sitting on the beach with the cool sea air whisping my frizzed out hair. That is why we invented pony tails!

Allegiance

My Mama has a blog. And when she decides to post something it is usually pretty amazing.
Here are a few of her words.....

"I'm in love with the thought that maybe, just maybe the people of this nation and the whole world are beginning a spiritual shift that is bringing the realization that we are one people who, like the flowers of the fields, have many colors, sizes, shapes and needs. Alone, we are unique and beautiful in our own way; gathering together, if we stand back and look with open eyes, we will see the exquisite beauty this blending can create."

In a Fog

The entire Treasure Valley is trapped in a foggy inversion! Its been dark and ugly out. I can't even see the mountains from my house in any direction... On top of that I've been sitting at home, in my pajamas sick for a few days. I'm finally feeling a little better but don't want to be around people. I talked My Handyman into taking me for a drive. I heard that its actually sunny in the mountains, and the deer and elk are down low. So off we went.

I took a couple of pictures along the Boise river. This fisherman was all bundled up in his Carhartts. I zoomed in on him and he has no idea that his picture is now on the internet! We are at the bottom of Lucky Peak Damn and there are a few icicles forming on the sides of the rocks that I thought looked cool.
Photobucket
PhotobucketPhotobucket
We seen a lot of deer, but none close enough to zoom in on and get some good shots. That is photo shots! Hunting season is over! (I think they know that and thats why they feel safe down lower.) We were on a two lane hiway and couldn't pull over.

We headed North and what should appear? Mr Sunshine! Its amazing how a clear blue sky can really cheer me up! I love it! The higher altitude we were the less deer we saw so we turned around and headed home. The temp was around 45 in the higher elevations and only 31 in the valley.

Here is a peek of Mr Blue Sky! We're heading back into the fog. I hung my head out the window of the truck and took a few shots. See me in the rear view mirror??
