Perseverance

Perseverance is being steadfast and persistent. You commit to your goals and overcome obstacles, no matter how long it takes. When you persevere, you don't give up...you keep going. Like a strong ship in a storm, you don't become battered or blown off course. You just ride the waves.

We finally received the results from our 2nd month weigh in for the fitness challenge. I lost 2 more pounds. And my inches went down another 7.5.
So its been a gradual change but I figure I'll keep off the weight if I persevere.

Joyfulness

Joyfulness is an inner sense of peace and happiness. You appreciate the gifts each day brings. Without joyfulness, when the fun stops, our happiness stops. Joy can carry us through the hard times even when we are feeling very sad. Joy gives us wings.

I've been working OT this week so I haven't had much time to create cards. I pulled the ladder from the garage and snapped a few pictures of my Chickens. They're all over my kitchen. On the walls, plant shelves, etc. Most of them I've painted, myself. Please ignore the dust layer.. It provides extra insulation during the winter months!

Patience

Patience is quiet hope and trust that things will turn out right. You wait without complaining. You are tolerant and accepting of difficulties and mistakes. You picture the end in the beginning and persevere to meet your goals. Patience is a commitment to the future.

Sorry the pictures didn't turn out so well. This is a prim bunny I painted. Anxiously waiting for Spring! See the pretty little tulip!! I love tulips!

Out on a Limb

I received my stamp set; Out On A Limb from Paper Trey Ink. I made a couple of very simple cards.

This one was made using CTMH Bamboo, Chocolate and Breeze CS. I used Orange ink.


This one was made using CTMH Hollyhock and Bamboo CS. I used a white gel ink pen and Pink gel ink pen to doodle the background and dot the center of the flowers.

I used Basic Grey paper - Phoebe. Ink is Lilac Mist, Blush and Hollyhock.

I embelished with Robins Nest - Spring bloom bobbles . Stickles colors are waterfall, cotton candy, and crystal.

Friendliness

Scissorbella had her friend David over last night for a game of Phase 10. After not sleeping the previous night and entertaining the snowbirds all day I was ready for a fun game. My Handyman thinks he got food poisoning from our lunch Friday. He was very sick!!! and didn't even leave his bed until this morning (except for quick jaunts to the bathroom every 5 minutes for about 24 hours). He's feeling slightly better today so I'm having the rest of the kids over this afternoon for Turkey dinner.

Caring

Caring is giving love and attention to people and things that matter to you. When you care about people, you help them. You do a careful job, giving your very best effort. You treat people and things gently and respectfully. Caring makes the world a safer place.

Inlaws

Today we took the snowbirds to Table Rock which overlooks the city. Mickie has a phobia of windy mountain roads but she survived. I took a picture of my Handyman with his parents using the foothills as a backdrop. They look pretty with their snow on them.

I also took a picture of downtown Boise. The inversion is moving in quickly...

Is it Friday Yet?

My inlaws flew into town last night. My handman called to tell me the flight was going to be a little late. He was bored at the airport. The spoiled rotten dog was laying next to my feet while I was reading my blog favorites online. Suddenly his hair stood on end and he started that low, killer growl. It was chilling! I couldn't figure out why. It was too soon for the arrival of the Snowbirds. I peeked through the blinds and there was three Ada County sherriff cars with their lights flashing and their spotlights on my house!! There was an unfamiliar vehicle in the driveway. One of the Badged Dudes seen me peeking and held his hand up. (meaning Beware!) This really freaked me out! I quickly grabbed the the phone book and called the local dispatcher. I gave them my name and address and they told me to stay in the house; that the scene was being secured! This really made me feel safe!!! "What do you mean, secured?" I said. They said that the Sherriff had been following a car they thought was a possible drunk driver from Meridian through Kuna and then into our subdivision. (over 10 miles) She assured me that one of the officers would let me know the details soon. "Why did he pick MY driveway?" I kept peeking out the window for over 30 minutes. They had flairs in the road so no cars could enter. Meanwhile I'm thinking! What an impression for the inlaws that have never been to our house! They'd think "What kind of hood does my family live in?" My husband would have freaked and thought something was wrong with me. Their arrival was nearing as the seconds ticked by. Finally, one of the officers knocked on the door. It was cold out and he was wearing his gloves and beanie so I let him come inside. Evidently, the elderly gentleman had dementia and was disoriented. He does live down the street from me, but was confused. He did have a warrent so they handcuffed him and hauled him off. The officer told me they would be removing the vehicle and be on their way. I told him " Could you PLEASE hurry it up because the inlaws would be here any second. He laughed and joked with me for a minute then said. Now that is a story to tell! They were gone with no evidence. Three minues later, My Handyman and the Snowbirds arrived!!

These cards are from a template I use to create 10 cards using 3 peices of cardstock and 1 peice of B&T Paper. I've held several workshops and its fun to see the variety using different colors and paper choices.

The In Laws

My inlaws are arriving this evening. My handyman is at the airport now to pick them up. They're leaving their cold winter home in Minnesota to visit us in our cold winter Idaho home! :)
