Perseverance

Perseverance is being steadfast and persistent. You commit to your goals and overcome obstacles, no matter how long it takes. When you persevere, you don't give up...you keep going. Like a strong ship in a storm, you don't become battered or blown off course. You just ride the waves.

We finally received the results from our 2nd month weigh in for the fitness challenge. I lost 2 more pounds. And my inches went down another 7.5.
So its been a gradual change but I figure I'll keep off the weight if I persevere.

The Pinch Test

Today was the day! Weigh in and Measure! I lost 2 pounds. My plan was to maintain so I was excited. How many people do you know that lose during the holidays? My measurements were really good. I lost 3.5'' off my hips, 2" off my abs; anyway.. I don't know exactly how many inches I lost last month but every measurement was down except my left bicep was .25" larger. I told the trainer it must be the muscle I'm building in my weak arm! LOL!! My fat caliper pinch test was down 14mm which is quite a bit. We'll probably get the full results Friday or Monday. It will tell us fat percentages etc.. Now on to January.... (My legs are really burning after todays workout!)

I outlined the small heart with Christmas Red Stickles. This was a quick, and simple card.

TFIG!!

So happy its Friday! I only worked three days but... its quarter end! Need I say more? I had a fabulous workout after work! I'm usually at ATC for about 1 1/2 hours. I've tried the elliptical a couple of times and I was having alot of problems! I could hardly do it for 1 minute! I was dying! I've been tread milling pretty regular for about 3 years and I couldn't even do the dang elliptical for a minute!!!! Well... we've been at the gym for 2 months.. I'm feeling pretty good and dropping a few inches and pounds so I'm thinking.. This should be a piece of cake!! I thought I would try it again. I got on it today and lasted about 1 1/2 minutes! What the heck?? The girl next to me was going like crazy and had been for about 15 minute. I asked her how in the heck she does it and she stopped a minute and looked at my machine.. HHMMM! It was set at the maximum levels which must be the default! GEEEZ! no wonder I was dying. Once I got the settings correct! It's a miracle! I was on it for 20 minutes... That was after I'd already been at the gym for an hour. WHOO HOO! I love that machine now! It will be a regular! I guess it helps to know what you're doing. The fitness routine has been going pretty good. I average 3-4 times a week at ATC and the treadmill at home a couple of times a week. The first month I lost 7 pounds and 13 inches.. We weigh in again next week. I was down about 6 pounds then I was on vacation last week and NO GYM! That really makes a difference. I weighed myself Wed at the gym and I was up a couple of pounds so I'm guessing I'm down about 4 pounds? Which is pretty darn good for going through the holiday season! We'll see!!!

Scissorbella starts her new job in just over a week! She wants me to make some cards for her so that she can send out business cards. She'll be working at Rain Spa and Salon. The colors are chocolate, bamboo, light green and a touch of soft orange. I made this tiny example for her. We've got to get busy and make the real thing. This card is made using CTMH Chocolate, Bamboo and Sweet Leaf CS. The stamp is Stampin Up! Artfully Asian. What do you think?

My Toe

The fitness program seems to be going ok. I tweaked my back a couple of weeks ago but so far that hasn't been a problem. Only when I sneeze! I feel like I have a rib jabbing into my lung!!! Last week, Wilt was wrestling and trying to tickle me. I jumped because of my back and turned and he stepped on my little toe and broke it. So.... Thats another thing I'm dealing with. We got the treadmill moved back out to the garage so that I can do it anytime of the day.
I did the treadmill as a warmup for about 10 minutes before working the machines at ATC. I need to wrap my foot. Tomorrow will be better! The weights are great! Its so nice having the gym right across from the gym. We received our team T-shirts yesterday. Our Team is Red. We decided to be the Rowdy Red Rebels.!!

The Biggest Winner!!

The Company I work for wants us all to be healthier! The risings costs of health care is enormous! I work at the corporate office and we are Guinea pigs! "Literally!"
We are doing "The Biggest Winner" challenge for 3 months effective Nov 1st.
We had our blood drawn Yesterday to check cholesterol etc. We have a 3 month membership to The Athletic Training Center (across the street) so we went over and got weighed and measured. We have team Tshirts and we're getting a book and pedometer. There will be many prizes awarded based on many different areas. Some people don't need to lose weight but need to get fit! This will be a fabulous challenge! Its great doing it as a group. All the executives are participating. If this works out.. they will eventually get it going company wide. After the 3 months we will have a very discounted membership to the fitness club. We have a tour and orientation Thursday morning! I made an appointment with a personal trainer for Thursday afternoon! Ok you girls that work with me and read this! The game is on!!! My goal is 10 pounds a month! Do you think that is reasonable? Maybe I should wait to make my goal until after I meet with the trainer? I'll keep you posted!!!
