Oh Holy Night.

I painted this  24 inch wreath for Scissorbella.    I don’t paint as often as I used to, but I still enjoy doing it.   I use my scroll saw and cut out my own wood.  My paint of choice is Decoart Americana.

I purchase most of my products at the evil store  Quality Art.   It is an Artists Paradise and they also have the best prices.

When I went to Hobby Lobby to find a plain wreath they were on sale at 50% off.   (before Halloween!)   and the berry picks were 99 cents.  Now that is my kind of shopping.

This pictures shows you the various layers a little better..

This picture is a little shaded.  Here is one I took inside.

Off to my next project.   It involves a bushy white bearded guy!

Busy as a Bee

I've been really busy painting and making projects...  and I can't really post everything because some of them are custom orders and ... well...   I don't want to take the chance that someone may take a peek at my blog.  I've started on a few Christmas cards. I learned a new way to make paper flowers. I went to a Stampin Up! party and learned how to make a new punched edge.   Maybe I can share that with you.  This is the card we made.  See that fun edge?  It's made with THIS punch.

Basically you punch across the ivory card stock, evenly spaced,  then fold the edge back and slide in a a piece of pretty designed paper.   Love it!

Best Day Ever

This is one of my favorite cards I’ve made in a while. Kind of plain but with a few touches of girly.   I love using the doily.

I love using Versamark ink with chalks…  I need to do that more often.

I’ve really been having fun with my sewing tool making all of the stitching marks.   Notice the new Ricrac die cut?   that is such a strange word.  How do you spell it anyway?

Dictionary.com says…..

–noun

rickrack
narrow, zigzag braid or ribbon used as a trimming on clothing, linens, etc.

Also, ricrac.

Well there you have it…

NOTICE!  two sizes of the RicRac! Large above,  small below.

Products used: Kraft CS. Doily. CTMH – X7119B Veranda, Juniper. Scallop oval punch. Versamark ink (clear watermark ink). CTMH chalks. Verve – Kind Words.  Antique brads. Verve – Framed Wishes. String. Sewing tool. Distress ink – Vintage photo.

Fall Splendor

I grabbed my camera yesterday.  It was a cool, overcast and kind of gloomy day.   I figured I could find something good to photograph out in the backyard.   I am so thankful that I live in a part of the country where I get to experience the four seasons.   I am amazed at the beauty of all of God’s creations!

My roses still look like this even though we’ve had temps down in the 20’s.

What beauty can you find in your backyard?

Flap Bag Album

I have a pack of 500 paper bags I bought last summer.  I’ve made some paperbag scrapbooks out of them and have sold a few kits with instructions.   I love making small themed scrapbooks.   They’re so fun!

I found a video on YouTube a few days ago with instructions to make a Flap Bag book!  Yea!   More idea’s for my paper bags…   It went together real quick. (about 45 minutes)   Right now it’s really basic but I’ll eventually add some pictures and embellishments to it.

Turn off the music above and watch the following instructions.

Holiday Happenings

It will be here before we know it..  I can’t quite say the word even though I’ve been preparing for a few weeks.   Here are a few things going on in the craft room.

This is about as clean as its going to get for a few weeks.

I am a list maker.  I always have lists of various things and one of them is cards I need to make.   I used a glue dot on this small clothes pin and attached to my ink stack. I can attach my list for an easy glance.

Embossed snowflakes and more.  I usually make about 150 cards for Christmas and I’m just starting…   Busy! Busy!

I have a work bench and table in the 3rd stall of the garage where I do all of my woodcutting and painting .

What’s going on in your craft room?
