It’s Autumn time

It’s Autumn time, It’s Autumn time,

The leaves are falling down.

It’s Autumn time, It’s Autumn time,

It’s all around the town.

I get a lot of inspiration from the design team members over at The Verve Gallery.   Go see their fabulous creations!

These cards are very similar…just a few minor differences.   I cut a square then rounded the edges,  then a circle punch in the middle, using my nestabilities.  CS is embossed using a Cuttlebug and SU embossing plates.  I stamped the leaves on designed paper and cut out.

A few days ago was my SIL David’s Birthday… He was the recipient of one of them.  He graduated from BSU in May and he just got his first accounting job.  We’re real proud of him!

Products used:   CTMH – desert sand, breeze.  PTI – Autumn Abundance. Birthday Bash Sentiments. Verve – Autumn Splendor. Cuttlebug. SU. Green raffia. Hemp twine. Distress ink – vintage photo. Nestabilities. Corner edger. Button. Twine. Sewing tool. White craft ink.

I hope you’re having some fabulous Fall weather to enjoy!

It’s Autumn time, It’s Autumn time,

Yellow, Red and Brown.

It’s Autumn time, It’s Autumn time,

Bright colors can be found.

Memories

I love driving around and looking at old things.   Old places.  Old towns. Old Graveyards.

I love reading the headstones; wondering what their story is.   You know everyone has a story, and if you knew their story you would probably love them. Everyone buried had a family.

When we went on our day trip to Placerville last weekend we stopped at the Cemetery there.  The headstones were so elaborate.  A lot of people born in other countries.  The old Cemeteries in the mountains amaze me.  I can’t imagine digging the hard packed soil on the side of a mountain.

These were probably 8 – 10 feet tall.

More Fall colors…

Just the Ticket

The Carpenters were the very first concert that I attended at The Mini Dome on the ISU Campus in Pocatello.  I think I was 12 years old.  For some reason I was humming this song in my head as I was creating this card.   Must be the ticket theme.   I love their version of The Beatles hit;  Ticket To Ride.  You can watch the video at the end of the post.

I used PTI stamp set -  Just the Ticket. They also have a die cut that cuts out 3 perforated tickets at once.  Love them!

I also cut out several sized flowers and layered them, then spritzed with some Glimmer Mist.

Products used:   CTMH – Key to My Heart. Tulip, Juniper, Creme Brulee. PTI – Just the Ticket. Die cut. Buttons. Twine. Glimmer Mist – Wheatfields. Robins Nest – Baubles. SU punch.  Sewing Tool.

Pause the music above and enjoy!

Road Trip

Saturday I went on a road trip with my Son Eric, my DIL Jennifer and the cutest little boy I know.  We drove up to Placerville which is between Horseshoe Bend and Idaho City up in the mountains.   In It’s day, it was a gold mining town.   Now there are just a few structures.    Along the dirt roads there are a few little creeks with tree’s and shrubs showing their pretty Fall colors.   It was raining most of the day but we had a great time.   While in Placerville we went to the old cemetery and took pictures.  I’ll share some of those with you in a couple of days.

Products used:  Canon Rebel, PSE7, Designer Digitals, Font – Consolas.

Many Blessings

I love this new CTMH paper pack – X7127B – Magnifique.   The colors are so rich and vibrant!

It’s that time of year we tend to count our blessings.  We should be counting them every day.

Count Your Many Blessings

When upon life’s billows you are tempest tossed,
When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost,
Count your many blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.

Refrain

Count your blessings, name them one by one,
Count your blessings, see what God hath done!
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.

Are you ever burdened with a load of care?
Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?
Count your many blessings, every doubt will fly,
And you will keep singing as the days go by.

Refrain

When you look at others with their lands and gold,
Think that Christ has promised you His wealth untold;
Count your many blessings. Wealth can never buy
Your reward in heaven, nor your home on high.

Refrain

So, amid the conflict whether great or small,
Do not be disheartened, God is over all;
Count your many blessings, angels will attend,
Help and comfort give you to your journey’s end.

Refrain

Take our breath away…..

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away…

Ever have any of those moments??…

This card is bright and colorful!  and has a lot of layers.

All the edges are scraped with my scissors,  rubbed with my finger nails, inked, sponged and rolled with my sewing tool. I love CTMH paper because the core is white.  It makes a great distressed edge. I added a little bit of stickles for bling to the edge of the flower.   Wondering why BLING always shows up as a misspell.  It should be in the dictionary.

Products used:   Verve – Beautiful You. October Afternoon. Copics. Seam binding ribbon. pearl baubles. Champagne mist ink. Distress ink – Vintage photo.  Stickles. CTMH – Moonstruck. Maya Road stick pin.

Let us Oft Speak Kind Words

1. Let us oft speak kind words to each other
At home or where’er we may be;
Like the warblings of birds on the heather,
The tones will be welcome and free.
They’ll gladden the heart that’s repining,
Give courage and hope from above,
And where the dark clouds hide the shining,
Let in the bright sunlight of love.

[Chorus]
Oh, the kind words we give shall in memory live
And sunshine forever impart.
Let us oft speak kind words to each other;
Kind words are sweet tones of the heart.

2. Like the sunbeams of morn on the mountains,
The soul they awake to good cheer;
Like the murmur of cool, pleasant fountains,
They fall in sweet cadences near.
Let’s oft, then, in kindly toned voices,
Our mutual friendship renew,
Till heart meets with heart and rejoices
In friendship that ever is true.

Big Wishes

The last couple of months there has been a lot of Birthday’s and events to make cards for.   I need to catch up and share them all.

I stamped the image with versa mark ink then embossed the image with white embossing powder. I used my CTMH blade knife and cut around part of the edges.  I used a few shades of CTMH chalks and colored in the images.

I recently learned that Anna over at Sassy and Sweet has a favorite crafting tool.  It’s her sewing rotary tool..  the one that has the spikes. You use it when marking patterns for sewing.   See….  I gave it a try and ran it along the edges of my card.

Add a little ribbon, twine and buttons and there you go!   And you can even go outside of the edges!

Products used:  White emboss powder.  Kraft CS. CTMH – Baby pink, Desert Sand. Chalks. Ribbon. Buttons. Twine. PTI – Year of flowers- Gladiolus.
