A Blog Interuption

I preposted the last several days blogs...   And I've been so busy I haven't  had time to update everyone on the the Major Event that has happened in my life.     Through the power of prayer and God's Grace, our family witnessed a miracle this week.   My 27 year old son, Eric is a construction worker and has been working a couple hours North in the Mountains of Idaho on a large vacation home.   Tuesday morning at around 9:30 AM the unimaginable happened.    He was climbing up a ladder, slipped, the nail gun hit a step, which caused his hand to slip up to the trigger and the pressure of the bump against his chest cause the nail gun to shoot a 16 penny ring shank nail (3 1/4 inches)  into his chest.   He called my daughter in law to tell her the news and that he was being transported to the McCall hospital.  The original plan was for him to be sent via Life Flight to a local Boise Hospital where the Heart Trauma Center is located.   The doctors didn't know for sure if the nail was just inside the chest wall or in his heart.   Because of bad Winter weather, the helicopter was not able to leave McCall.  They had to schedule a plane to leave Boise, fly to McCall to get him, then back to Boise.   It took 5 hours from the time of  the accident for him to arrive in Boise.  He was in surgery within about 5 minutes of arrival.  The surgeons didn't know for sure what to expect but they knew they didn't have any time to waste taking all kinds of tests.  They cracked his chest open and soon found out that the nail went through two chambers of his heart.    He should not have survived the impact of the nail! let alone all the other delays.  They were able to remove the nail, and stitch up his heart.   Life has been surreal.   Time has stopped.   A miracle happened!  God is good!   According to the surgeon, Eric survived a FATAL accident.  It's amazing that the day after this Trauma,   He is up and walking and still wants to eat everything in sight.     He still has a small hole between the two chambers which the doctor is pretty sure will heal up on it's own.  If not,  they'll go through his groin and patch it.   I want to thank all of my family and friends for all of your love and support.  I truly believe in the power of prayer.   God has big plans for him!   We're hoping he'll be able to go home on Christmas day.    For a little more info and pictures...  Read my daughter in law Jenn's blog HERE  and please continue to pray for his recovery.   Here is a news video..
