Queen Mish

This is from  one of the lessons from my new Digital Expressions book..    It has quite a few layers..  and turned out quite ODD.   LOL!   That’s  ok.. Most Art is…well…quite odd!
It’s kind of hard to tell,  but I used a photo of myself, then added layers of colors and paint,   shadowed and sketched.   You can’t even see any of the original photo except my eyes, teeth and shirt.   I had a really hard time with the lips.   The background has many layers of brushes, then I added a couple digital elements.  Entire piece has 24 layers. Gasp!
Guess what is now on my wish list?   A graphics tablet.   Much easier for drawing than my mouse..

Winged Thoughts

I recently purchased these two fabulous books.   I’ve been reading and drooling quite a bit this week…  So many ideas!    What’s a girl to do??

Apples, Pears and Such..

October Afternoon has some of my favorite paper products.   Farm Fresh.  Doesn’t that just sound fun?   Who doesn’t love gingham?  There is just something about it that is fun!   It kind of sounds giggly.

This card just has one little birthday sentiment from a PTI stamp.    I attached my fun little punched and layered flower that I made out of an old book I bought at the thrift shop.  The leaves are just cut out of scraps and distressed.

And polka dots are another favorite.  Everything goes good with polka dots!!
Products used:   October Afternoon. PTI – Round and Round. Pearls. Ribbon. Paper Flower. Button. Twine. Distress ink – Tea dye.

Another Peacock Parade

Love the new BoBunny….  I guess this one uses Sunkissed Peacock Lane.    Such fun colors!  I’ve also been using the new Verve stamps.  I love them.. and I love that Julee is local!   I love supporting my local businesses..   Especially when I can be creative with the products!

The teal chipboard is actually a piece of scrap left over after punching out the centers.   Lots of bright layers here.

Products used:  BoBunny. Verve- Always on My Mind. Chipboard scraps. Ticket. Pearl. Button. Twine. Ribbon. Nestabilities. CTMH – Hydrangea

Dreams My Go

I’m still sharing cards I made a couple of weeks ago… before I got my  good camera back from the shop… do the photo's aren't the best.. but you get the idea..

I made more paper flowers for this one.  They're so fun !

This card has alot of white.  It’s hard to see the different layers and textures, but I used a Tim Holtz embossing plate on the main card base. I embossed a sheet of velum and put over the designer paper. I  punched a nice little lacy edge and there is 3 layers of ribbon.

I found this fun BoBunny paper at Archiver’s.   Peacock Lane Parade.   My Sister loves purple and I love the teal with it.

Products used:  BoBunny. Tim Holtz – emboss template. Shimmerz. Maya Road heart chipboard. Adirondack paint dauber. Ribbon, buttons, Vellum. Verve – Blue Skies. Staple. CTMH - Hydrangea, Citrus Leaf.

Love Is In The Air

Over the weekend I helped my DIL shoot a wedding.   It was quite the adventure.  Matt and Kristin make such a cute couple.

I’m not a professional photographer..  I do it more as a hobby.. and I really haven’t had a whole lot of time to study my camera..   I know quite a few of the manual settings… but have so much more to learn.

The Wedding took place at Gowen Field.  It was a bright, sunny day and not much shade. There were not many places to shoot pictures.  Pretty much everywhere had buildings or parking lots behind the subjects. Overall it turned out pretty good and I got quite a few good shots.   I can hardly wait to see how Jenn's turned out.
