I've finished coloring several images from Pink Cat Studio. They're anxiously waiting to become some fabulous creation! Whateva! These cute little guys are captivating!

How would you like to be the top guy.. He looks a little tipsy huh?

I made this card for a boy.... not too much bling. Why waste ribbons, baubles and such, when they hardly even notice the wonders? Don't they just cry out "Celebrate"!?

Thanksgiving Proclamation

2009 US Presidential Thanksgiving Proclamation

THE WHITE HOUSE
Office of the Press Secretary

Thanksgiving Day, 2009
By the President of the United States of America
A Proclamation

What began as a harvest celebration between European settlers and indigenous communities nearly four centuries ago has become our cherished tradition of Thanksgiving. This day's roots are intertwined with those of our Nation, and its history traces the American narrative.

Today, we recall President George Washington, who proclaimed our first national day of public thanksgiving to be observed "by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God," and President Abraham Lincoln, who established our annual Thanksgiving Day to help mend a fractured Nation in the midst of civil war. We also recognize the contributions of Native Americans, who helped the early colonists survive their first harsh winter and continue to strengthen our Nation. From our earliest days of independence, and in times of tragedy and triumph, Americans have come together to celebrate Thanksgiving.

As Americans, we hail from every part of the world. While we observe traditions from every culture, Thanksgiving Day is a unique national tradition we all share. Its spirit binds us together as one people, each of us thankful for our common blessings.

As we gather once again among loved ones, let us also reach out to our neighbors and fellow citizens in need of a helping hand. This is a time for us to renew our bonds with one another, and we can fulfill that commitment by serving our communities and our Nation throughout the year. In doing so, we pay tribute to our country's men and women in uniform who set an example of service that inspires us all. Let us be guided by the legacy of those who have fought for the freedoms for which we give thanks, and be worthy heirs to the noble tradition of goodwill shown on this day.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BARACK OBAMA, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim Thursday, November 26, 2009, as a National Day of Thanksgiving. I encourage all the people of the United States to come together, whether in our homes, places of worship, community centers, or any place where family, friends and neighbors may gather, with gratitude for all we have received in the past year; to express appreciation to those whose lives enrich our own; and to share our bounty with others.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this twentieth day of November, in the year of our Lord two thousand nine, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and thirty-fourth.

Barack Obama
President of the United States of America

Spicy Boys

The Gingerbread Man

Once upon a time a little old woman and a little old man lived in a cottage. One day the little old woman made a gingerbread man. She gave him currants for eyes and cherries for buttons. She put him in the oven to bake. The little old woman and little old man were very hungry and wanted to eat the gingerbread man. As soon as he was cooked, the little old woman opened the oven door. The gingerbread man jumped out of the tin and ran out of the open window shouting, 'Don't eat me!' The little old woman and little old man ran after the gingerbread man.

'Stop! Stop!' they yelled. The gingerbread man did not look back. He ran on saying,
'Run, run as fast as you can! You can't catch me, I'm the gingerbread man!' Down the lane he sped when he came to a pig. 'Stop! Stop! I would like to eat you," shouted the pig. The gingerbread man was too fast. He ran on saying
"Run, run as fast as you can. You can't catch me, I'm the gingerbread man.

A little further on he met a cow. 'Stop! Stop! little man,' called the hungry cow, 'I want to eat you.' Again the gingerbread man was too fast. He sped on down the road saying, "Run, run as fast as you can. You can't catch me, I'm the gingerbread man." The cow began to chase the gingerbread man along with the pig, and the little old woman. But the gingerbread man was too fast for them. It was not long before the gingerbread man came to a horse. 'Stop! Stop!' shouted the horse. 'I want to eat you, little man.' But the gingerbread man did not stop. He said,'Run, run as fast as you can. You can't catch me, I'm the gingerbread man.'

The horse joined in the chase. The gingerbread man laughed and laughed, until he came to a river. 'Oh no!' he cried, 'They will catch me. How can I cross the river?A sly fox came out from behind a tree. 'I can help you cross the river,' said the fox. 'Jump on to my tail and I will swim across.'
'You won't eat me, will you?' said the gingerbread man.
'Of course not,' said the fox. 'I just want to help.' The gingerbread man climbed on the fox's tail. Soon the gingerbread man began to get wet. 'Climb onto my back,' said the fox. So the gingerbread man did. As he swam the fox said, 'You are too heavy. I am tired. Jump onto my nose.' So the gingerbread man did as he was told. No sooner had they reached the other side, than the fox tossed the gingerbread man up in the air. He opened his mouth and 'Snap!' that was the end of the gingerbread man.

I use the Prismacolor Premier pencils. I haven't tried any of their others. Although after watching THIS video I'm tempted to try others. I just do the basic pencil coloring, and shading, then I use mineral spirits with paper blending stubs.

Here are a few more images I'm working on... I have alot more coloring to do before I get these made into cards.

Check out the Prismacolor website for more info...

Oh and want to see who keeps my feet warm while I'm being creative??

Believe in Miracles

Do you believe in miracles? I think miracles are happening daily; all around us. We just need to stop and notice them. A friend of mine found out a few weeks ago that her daughter (age 31) has breast cancer. I know that she is praying for miracles to happen. When I seen Verve's newest stamps... I had to buy this one.

I stamped the flower 3 times, colored them with twinkling H20's and cut them up into layers. I also added some stickles for a little extra bling.

We all need to believe in miracles. Whether it's for someone else or for ourselves.

Products used: Verve - Believe. CTMH - Chocolate, Baby Pink. Twinkling H20's - Pink grapefruit, Apple Blossom. Stickles - Cotton Candy. Lace, Button.

You're Tweet

Michelle Wooderson makes the cutest cards. I read her blog regularly. I bought a couple of card kids from her Etsy shop. I don't know what papers she used... just that they are bright and fun and have the cutest little birds on them. Here is what I came up with using her kit.

Toys for Tots

The IT department always goes out to lunch and does a gift exchange each year for Christmas. We decided this year that we wanted to donate to someone in need instead of trying to figure out to buy for someone we may or may not know and hope they might like it. We got permission and a couple of us are organizing a Toys for Tots drive and are going to involve the entire Corporate office. I hope others are generous and experience the Joy of giving. I made several posters to hang around the office.

I created 8 1/2 x 11 posters using PSE7 and printed them on HP presentation paper and then adhered them to railroad board that I picked up at my favorite art supply store; Quality Art.
