Flea Market Finds

I’m always looking for fun little things to help organize my craft room.  I don’t want just Plain Jane everyday ordinary things.   They’ve got to have a tiny little bit of purdy to them.

The last couple of weeks My Handyman and I  scavenged  a couple of flea markets.  There is usually more junk than anything.  I tell you…  people are proud of their junk!

I found some pretty little cups that were once part of a punch bowl set.   The lady had dozens of mismatched sets.   I bought a couple to put fun little embellishments in.   They cost me a quarter each.

I also found a pretty little pot to put some of my markers in.  These are the E colored Copic Markers that I use mainly for flesh tones.   $1.00

I found this pretty little glass dish.  It is divided into three parts.  I had no idea what to do with it.  Currently it just has a couple of odds and ends sitting in it.   $2.00

And last but certainly not least; I found this stash of old salt and pepper shakers for $1.00 a pair.   I’ve been looking for these.  They were actually on my wish list.   Can you see why?    They’re perfect for sprinkling glitter on my purdy creations.

Is there any Trash that you Treasure?

In It’s Place

It’s no secret that I like everything neat and tidy and in it’s place.  I am pretty organized.   My theory is…  if everything is organized and where it belongs… I save a lot of time.. Time is very valuable to me.

When I saw this shelf in the Pottery Barn catalog I knew I had to save up the money and buy it..    Its perfect for organization..  Well…  Mr.  Brown delivered it yesterday.

What is better  than organizing my craft room on a Friday Night?  I tell you…. I live a real exciting domestic life.!

There it is..  hanging on the wall.. Isn’t it beautiful?

This is the view when you first walk into my craft room..  It’s a typical 12x12 room (bedroom)

Here are a few close ups….  My desk hasn’t been this clean for ages.  I’m sure it will be covered again in a couple of days.

The Big O!

Yup!  I am pretty ORGANIZED.   I am a time manager.   If you’re organized it takes no time at all to do things.  I place a very high value on my time.  Everything is in its place.  You don’t have to look for stuff.    One example is my Craft Room.

I have all of my stamp sets organized on either One Note,  or with pictures in a binder sorted by either number or Alphabetical.   I can scan through the images to find the stamp set I want to use without digging through stacks of stamps.  This way I tend to use more of my stamps, too.

My smaller stamp sets, such as Paper Trey Ink are stored in CD cases and are in an old CD tower.  I also store my Spellbinder products in CD cases.

My Close to My Heart stamp sets are stored in a small dresser that I found that has the perfect sized drawers.  They’re in numerical order.

I have other sets in clear cases organized in a closet.

Paper is stored in the closet, too.

Buttons and ribbons are in various sized jars sorted by colors.

My punches are stored in an over the door shoe storage bag.

My magazines and books are in a shelf hanging on the wall and within easy reach.

My ink pads and markers are stored in this fabulous InkStak shelf

Most of my scrapbook pages are made digitally using PSE7.    I print them on 8x8 paper at Costco to put into my books.

I organize all of my digital scrapbook kits using One Note, also.   This is a fabulous organizational tool.

How do you organize your Craft Room?    Like I said previously..   It is a huge time saver!     Now I just need to figure out how to keep the table clean.   LOL!!

Knobs

I have this shelf that has been sitting in my closet since last fall. I found it at an old barn bazaar and paid $1 for it.  Yes that is right.  Pocket change.  That is my kind of shopping.  Basically I own allot of other peoples junk!

I decided to hang it about a month ago and stacked all of my jelly jars full of buttons on it.    Its great wall decor and makes it quick to find button colors that I want.    Can you say button addiction?

I was in a local craft store last week and found these cute little knobs.   I predrilled holes in the shelf then attached the knobs.

Aren’t they fun?

I have my little scripture cards hanging from one of them.   I may hang a couple of my small scrapbooks, too..

Enjoy! Create! Simplify!

Disaster Area

How am I supposed to be creative when my craft room looks like this?

I finally got it clean and I'm now ready to start on Christmas Projects! Don't laugh! It will be here before we know it!

Organization

I don’t know why I didn’t think of this sooner! I have been selling and getting rid of almost all of my music CD’s. All of my music is on my MP3 player and I have no use for all of the clutter. I have a CD tower which gets moved from room to room and hasn’t had much purpose. I’ve kept a few of my favorite CD’s, so I decided I didn’t want to get rid of the tower just yet.

I decided to put all of my nestabilities in CD cases. I put a magnetic sheet inside to hold the die cuts.

Guess what? I can store these in the CD tower! They fit perfect. Several of my stamp set also come in CD cases. PTI (Paper Trey Ink), Whipper Snapper, Verve, etc….. Now they’re in easy reach!
