A Closer Look

Early this morning, when it was a little cooler (mid 70’s),   I took a few photo’s in my flower garden.

The bee’s were buzzing around the lavender and the hen’s and chick’s are blooming.

The spider came running out as the shutter of the camera engaged.    The shutter was a little faster than he was otherwise he would have been out on the web.

We are having record heat in the Boise area this week.    Today it was 106!   Hopefully my plants live through it.   I’ll be staying in the cool house.

I hope you’re enjoying your summer!

Enjoy!

A Walk in the Park

A couple of weeks ago I grabbed my camera and headed to Kathryn Albertson Park in Boise.  It is a nature park.   I was hoping to find a few goslings wandering around but the geese were still nesting.

The turtles were even sunning themselves.

As I was wandering down the path I spotted several deer enjoy the shade back in the brush.

This has been a beautiful spring for the flowing trees.

Isn’t this the best shade of pink ever?

I ended the afternoon attending  a birthday party for this little cutie.

Her brother was a bundle of energy and had fun rolling down the hill at the park.

I {Heart} the Ocean!

I was on vacation at the Oregon coast for about 7 days.  It was so nice.   The weather was pretty good.  We had fog for a few days but it wasn’t too cold. It was about 65-73 most of the week   We had fun roaming around on the beach, watching the whales and of course eating Clam Chowder  and Fish and Chips everywhere we went.

Agate Beach is really sandy and has a lot of small rolling dunes. (Ash and Dave)

I think this is the Heceta Head light house.  Sitting high on the hill in the fog.

The Yaquina Bay bridge…

This is pretty much what the coast looked like all week.  Fog!

I was standing up near the Devils punch bowl.  See the tiny surfers?

It was windy, foggy and the sea was pretty rough.   Ashley and I went out on a Zodiac inflatable to whale watch.  We had quite the ride out.   We found a couple of whales and were about 30 feet from them .  One of them breached once and we saw several whale tails.  They were too quick for me to snap a photo.  I didn’t take my good camera out.  It was too misty. It was awesome!  They were about 40 feet long.  This one is diving after coming up for air.

Another view of the Yaquina Bay bridge.  Just about to walk onto the crabbing dock.

This is just a few of the many I took.  I hope you enjoyed…

In My Pretty Garden

In my pretty garden the flowers are nodding.  “How do you do?” they say.  “How do you do today?”  In my pretty garden the flowers are nodding.

I grabbed the camera this afternoon and took a couple pictures of the pretty flowers that are finally blooming; daffodils and anemones.

I added the Scratched Opal texture from Florabella and the Sweettart texture from Kim Klassen to a couple of them.  I love the dreamy softness of the textures.

I hope you’re enjoying the new life that is starting to pop up everywhere.

A Quick Reminder….

My Dad taught me how to fish as soon as I was old enough to stand up and hold a pole.   I have many fond memories of him getting off work and gathering all of us kids and taking us to the nearest fishing hole for the evening.
When my kids were young,  their dad and I took them camping and fishing….  ALOT!    They  had so much fun….  everything from creeks, to lakes, to beaver ponds.   Scissorbella was quite the fly fisherman….
How soon I forgot….
Three year olds have NO TIME or patience to sit and hold a fishing pole..
…except of course if there is already a fish on the hook; then they are ready and more than willing to reel it in.
I took Carter to a new little stocked trout pond about a mile from the house Saturday evening.  Quite honestly….  I’m quite surprised I got these two photo’s of him…

Carters Dad, Punk Snowboarder, still loves to fish… and he’s taken Carter a few times.   My middle Daughter,  Rockstar Chick,  loves to fish.  She carries her pole and tackle box in her trunk at all times.  You never know when you might want to stop by the river on your way home from work.. Now that Scissorbella is married.. I think she’ll be going a little more often..
Give a Man a fish and you
feed him for a day.   Teach
a Man to fish and you’ll
feed him for a lifetime.

Daily Disappearance

As I was driving home today, I was awestruck by the daily disappearance of the sun. I was able to pull over and grab my small little Cannon Elph and snap this photo as the trailing edge of the sun's disk disappeared below the horizon.

The colors are just fabulous! I am constantly amazed by God's artwork with the Owyhee Mountains as his backdrop.

5:30 PM - Mountain Time

One lone light... brightly shining in the distance.

EnJOY!
