Plain Jane

I mention all the time it’s hard for me to make plain boy cards.   I don’t know.  Do men like cards that are all frilly and have ribbons?   My Handyman just says..  “That’s nice. Thanks”  and puts it in his desk drawer.

I am a programmer/analyst so I work with a lot of men. The IT department is probably 90% men. Since I’m a card maker they get homemade cards from me.  A tiny bit of bling won’t hurt.

I used eyelets on this card.  I haven’t used them for ages.   I forgot how much I like them.

Products used: Verve – American Hero. PTI – Birthday Bash Sentiments. My Minds Eye. CTMH – Cocoa. Star punch. Stickles. Hemp. Eyelets.

Shabby Chic

Scissorbella recently changed jobs.   Her first job as a hair stylist was at an Aveda salon. She worked there for almost 3 years.  She loved her boss, she loved her co-workers. She worked for commission.   Her goal was to get a good client base and move to a salon that she rented her own space so that she could make more money, and she can make her own hours.   She is now doing that.   She asked me to make her a sign to post at her station .  The salon (Rejuv MedSpa) has a shabby chic decor so she wanted something to match.  She’ll buy a nice little 5x7 frame to put this in.   Name blocked out to protect the innocent.

I made my pretty little paper roses and spritzed them with some Shimmerz Spritz,  then painted on some champagne mist ink.   I dry brushed white ink on the background paper to distress a little bit.

Products used:  CTMH – Black. My Minds Eye. SU champagne mist ink. Shimmerz Spritz. Seam binding ribbon. SU punch.  American acrylic paint.

There is Sunshine in my Soul

We have been blessed with the most beautiful Fall weather! Can you believe its November and we’re still having 70 degree days?   My roses are still blooming.  Amazing!

This week will bring high 40’s and a little bit of rain.  I’m not going to complain.  It’s time for the change.

The warm weather reminds me of warm yellow sunflowers.  I bought this Flourishes stamp set a couple of months ago.   A Friends birthday is a perfect opportunity to ink it up.

I don’t know about you but I am going to enjoy every little bit of sunshine that I can before the snow flies.

Pause the music above and enjoy!

There is Sunshine in My Soul Today

There is sunshine in my soul today,
  More glorious and bright
Than glows in any earthly sky,
  For Jesus is my light.
    O there's sunshine, blessed sunshine,
    While the peaceful, happy moments roll;
When Jesus shows His smiling face
There is sunshine in my soul.
There is music in my soul today,
  A carol to my King;
And Jesus, listening, can hear
  The song I cannot sing.
There is springtime in my soul today,
For when the Lord is near
The dove of peace sings in my heart,
  The flowers of grace appear.
There is gladness in my soul today,
And hope, and praise, and love,
For blessings which He gives me now,
  For joys laid up above.

Their new album is fabulous!!

I’ll Like You for Always

One of my friends from church is about to have her 6th baby.  She is brave.    I just found out about her open house baby shower yesterday and the shower was last night.

I don’t really have a lot of stamps that can be used for baby cards.   I got off work and made this real quick so that I could go and visit with her for a minute.

I bought this set because the verse comes from the book  Love You Forever.  It is a must read!

Products used:   Basic Grey – Kioshi. CTMH – C1398 – Love you Forever. Robins Nest baubles. Copics. Seam binding ribbon. Distress ink – Vintage photo. Nestabilities

Many Blessings

Wow!  It’s Monday and I’m actually posting my Mojo Monday challenge card today..   I love these challenges…  when I find the time to do them.

I went to Hobby Lobby and they had 50% off all of their Scrapbook paper.  I found this pad of  12x12 paper by K & Co called Lifes Journey.  So pretty!  Sale price - $4.75 for 36 double sided sheets.  I also found a package of little paper doilies at the dollar store. (36ct)

A blessing, (also used to refer to bestowing of such) is the infusion of something with holiness, divine will, or one's hope or approval.

"To be blessed" means 'to be favored by God'. Blessings therefore are directly associated with God and come from God. Therefore to express a blessing, is like bestowing a wish on someone that she will experience the favor of God. "May you have a blessed Christmas", therefore can also be translated as: "May you experience the favor of God during this Christmas period.

Products used:   K&CO – Lifes Journey. Doily. Verve – Many Blessings. Distress ink – Vintage photo. Copic markers. SU punch. Seam binding ribbon. Maya Road pin.
