Backyard Birds

Now that Spring is here have you noticed all of the birds singing?  They are filling my tree’s with sweet music.

In the leafy tree tops the birds sing “Good Morning’”  They’re first to see the sun.  They must tell everyone.  In the leafy tree tops the birds sing “Good Morning”

I used a PTI die cut for the butterfly and edged it with stickles.    The tiny blue eggs have some glittery shimmerz.    Notice that I copied a piece of sheet music and attached as a little piece of trim?

Products used:  Just Right – Backyard Birds.  My Minds Eye – Fine and Dandy.  CTMH – Twilight. Stickles. Butterfly die cut. Seam binding ribbon. rhinestone. Pin. Nestabilities. Sheet music. Sewing tool. Distress ink – vintage photo.

Treat Yourself

Who doesn’t like cupcakes?   They come in all kinds of flavors and decor.   Yum!   There are so many cupcake stamps available.  I think everyone has designed one.

When I saw Cupcake Carmen over at Michelle Perkett’s Etsy store,  I had to get it.    I created this card for the Viva La Verve March wk 4 challenge.

I’m loving this new CTMH paper kit  X7131B – Sophia.  The colors are fabulous.   Hollyhock, Blush and Pear.

Clematis and Butterflies

Isn’t this Flourishes stamp set just gorgeous?  I made this card for a friend that has a spirit just as beautiful!

I colored the image with copic markers.   I then cut it out using my micro tip scissors and Exacto knife.  It took awhile but well worth the effort.

I made this for a challenge over at The Sweet Stop.  This challenge has ended but they have a new one going.

Products used:   Flourishes – Clematis & Butterflies. Cosmo Cricket. Copic Markers. Stickles. Distress ink – Vintage photo. PTI CS. Nestabilities. SU punch.

Why we Scrapbook

Watch this great short video about Scrapbooking. A fellow CTMH consultant created it for a contest. She does a great job telling the importance of keeping our memories alive. (turn off the music above)

There Is a Little Girl

The count down is on.  25 days until the New Granddaughter arrives.  We don’t know her name yet.   Her parents are the only one’s that know it.    We’ll find out after her birth when she’s introduced to us.   I am so excited.

The baby shower was Saturday.   There are so many cute clothes and baby items for girls.    It is so overwhelming while shopping.  I just want to buy one of everything…

I have this image from Mo’s Digital Pencil.  Isn’t she cute?  It made the perfect baby card.

Products used:   Mo’s digital image. CTMH – X7131B – Sophia.  Pins. Button. Twine. Seam binding ribbon.  Copic markers. Nestabilities. PTI – die cut. Stickles. Rhinestones. Distress ink – Vintage photo.

Oh Boy!

I went to a baby shower last night.  Kristi is having twin boys!   Can you imagine?   My Mom is a twin.  My Grandma had two sets of twins.  Twins run in my family.   I am so thankful I wasn’t blessed with them.  Maybe one of my kids will have them?

I stamped these Verve images on designer paper from the CTMH set X7133B – Miracle… then cut them out and attached to cardstock.

Products used:   Verve – To the Moon. CTMH – Miracle X7133B. Lace. Stickles. Pearls. Distress ink – vintage photo.  Nestabilities.

Dino Digi

I shared this digital page when I first made it  last Fall.

We stayed in a house at Lake Tahoe for a week and had a lot of fun adventures.  My Mom wrote the little story so I printed it for her… drew and painted a few of my own prehistoric creatures,  added a few extra embellies and framed it for her.

Here is a closer look at the digi page.

Bliss

Ok…  I can share this card and project with you….

I made this out of the new CTMH paper pack   X7132B – Bliss  and the new stamp D1451 – Trellis.   I love love love this paper and the colors.

I painted the flower and the butterfly with my waterbrush and inkpads.   I then used liquid glue and rubbed glitter all over the flower.  The flash from the camera makes it look a lot more shimmery than it really is.

Products used:   CTMH – Bliss, Trellis, Grey Wool, Taffy, Heavenly Blue. Vellum. Pearls. Rhinestones. Seam binding ribbon. Distress ink – Vintage photo.

I also made a matching journal.   Every Fall when school is about to start I buy a stack of these Composition books.   The icky “W” store sells them for 50 cents each.  Their about $3 the rest of the year…

I used a strip of Seam binding ribbon and adhered to the inside of the journal .   I attached a charm and knotted off the end. (for a bookmark)

Another Year Older

Yesterday was my birthday.  I decided to take a day of vacation so that My Handyman and I could go on an adventure.  His days off are Thursday and Friday and mine are Saturday and Sunday so we have to schedule time to see each other.

At first I was thinking of heading to the mountains.  They’ve had a lot of snow lately and I thought that would be fun.  There would probably be Deer and Elk down low and would make for some great photo shots.

One of the guys at work was telling me about the Bruneau River Canyon overlook.   I’ve been to the Bruneau Sand Dunes which is a fun place for a day trip.  There is fishing, hiking, kite flying, camping.. etc..   The Canyon is  about 70 miles East of home.   I decided that would be a great day trip and since it’s in the desert,   there shouldn’t be any snowy roads.

This beautiful canyon is 1300 feet wide, 800 feet deep and 60 miles long.   Look HERE for more information.

The last 5 or 6 miles is unpaved open range washboardy roads.   There is a possibility of seeing Antelope and Big Horn Sheep.  All we saw were Slow Elk (AKA – Black Angus).    Once we arrived, we walked to the edge of the canyon. There is a large area with trails and rails along the edge.  It would be highly unlikely you would survive if you fell over the edge.    I made this quick video with my phone.

What a beautiful place!   In the Spring.  It’s a very popular place for Kayaker’s. They hike down to the bottom of the canyon and enjoy the White Water adventure.   I don’t even want to know how they get down to the bottom.

The day was breezy and overcast.  My pictures are hazy but you can see how beautiful it is there.  All were taken from the overlook area. The Bruneau River at the bottom of the canyon is milk chocolate brown.

On our way home we stopped at the Black’s Creek Shooting Range.  45 minutes and 150 rounds of ammo later we headed home.

Do you think I could be one of Charlie’s Angels?

We then stopped at Cabelas,  bought more ammo to restock the supply and looked at THESE.     My Handyman got a Cherry Cheesecake for desert.  What a great Birthday!    Today I am meeting my mom for lunch.

enjoy!
