2012 Adventure

I finally had a little inspiration and made the cover for my 2012 Scrap*Life*Journal class.

I cut the sun out of several papers by My Minds Eye, CTMH, SU and K & Co.  I used my Pinking Circles by Spellbinders

I hand wrote all of the lettering using multiple pens.  A Zig pen. Prismacolor pen and a sharpie pen.

I created 3 of my handmade paper flowers and spritzed them with Sunflower Glimmer Mist.   I cut out the leaves and spritzed them with Olive Vine Glimmer Mist.

The grassy rolling hills are made out of some My Minds Eye paper and CTMH – black.  I scraped the edges with my scissors to distress them.

The entire page is made with papers out of old scraps of paper.

Products used:   Pinking Circles – Spellbinders. K&Co. My Minds Eye. CTMH. SU. Glimmer Mist – Sunflower, Olive vine. CTMH – copper brads. Sharpie pen. Zig pen. Prismacolor pen. Old book. Scallop punch.  Distress ink – Vintage photo.

I am …..

I finished up my second page for my Scrap*Life*Journal class… Here it is as a work in progress on my desk.

This page has a few word strips that describes who I am.   I stamped a few of the words from the PTI set – Top 10, and I hand doodled a few of my own.

I added one of my handmade paper flowers in the middle.  I punched 3-5 scallop circles out of an old book, spritzed with glimmer mist and scrunched together. Once they were dry, I attached them together with an antique brad.

Notice that I had to add buttons?   You know me and my buttons!  I <3 buttons~!

Products used:   PTI – Top 10. Echo Park paper. Pigma pen. Distress ink – vintage photo. Red craft ink. Buttons. Antique brad. Glimmer mist. Old book.

Rustic Branches

I love the softness of the blues and greens of this Memory Box paper.  They are such a silvery ice blue and sage.

I used the PTI stamp set, Rustic Branches.   It’s an older set that I haven’t used for quite a while.  How often do you dig out your older sets?

If you look really close you can see the wood grain embossing on the papers.   I used a PTI embossing plate to create this effect.

Products used.  PTI – Rustic Branches.  Spellbinders- Eyelet Circle. Seam binding ribbon. Distress ink – Vintage photo, evergreen bough, iced spruce. Fantastix – frost white. PTI – wood grain emboss plate. CTMH – White daisy craft ink. Stickles. CTMH – Holiday Red.

Scrapbook * Life * Journal

I’m taking a class over at Homegrown Hospitality. She is an amazing artist.  I love her doodling.   The class just started and she decided to extend the registration for a couple of more days if you’re interest. It’s a twelve month class so I’ll be sharing a lot of fun pages with you.

This is the start of my 7 x 9 binder.  I still haven’t been inspired on what I want to create for the cover yet.  All of my paper came from various Cosmo Cricket and Echo Park papers.

This is my January divider page.   I used the Marigold PTI stamp and colored it the twinkling H20’s. It was stamped on shape cut from Spellbinders labels 15.  Lettering is cut using my Silhouette.

My first January page is stamped with SU stamp – Growing Green. I colored the leaves and flowers with Twinkling H20’s.

I found some Prisma Color permanent markers of various sizes to do my doodling.

I’ve really enjoyed creating these first couple of projects and can hardly wait to create more to share with you.

One Little Word

Have you picked your word for the new year?   Do you know what it is all about?  One little word…
It’s been an event in the blog world for four or five years.   You choose your word for the year.  It’s a word that you want to inspire you.  It can be a word that is a subtle little hint of something you desire to change.  It can be a big word that can make your passion explode.
You can blog about it,  you can scrap about it,  you can journal about it,  you can even take classes about it for help inspiring you, or you can just day dream about it.  That’s the beauty of it.  It’s YOUR word!   You do whatever you want with it.

My word for Twenty-Twelve is   Choose

I choose to spend my time wisely in Twenty-Twelve. I choose to prioritize my life/time a little better.  I choose to slow down.  I choose to set aside time for personal growth. I choose to set aside time for date night with My Handyman. I choose to make my Family priority.  I will be analyzing and choosing things differently in Twenty-Twelve.

In Twenty-Eleven I really noticed and started observing Families, including my own.   Everyone, myself included, seem to be so busy, always on the go and never seem to have enough time to do what we want to do;  not what necessarily needs done , but what we WANT to do..   Between Friends, Hobbies, Work, Church activities etc…  there seems to be hardly any time for Family.  I think Christmas was the only gathering we had in twenty-eleven that all of my kids, siblings, Mom, etc. were together.   I think there was only one other time that I had all of my kids together. I hate that I have to plan ahead two or three months just to have a day together.  How sad is that?

I miss the good ole days!

I realize that the only thing I can do is make myself available.. I can’t change anyone else.  Even if the choices I make, make only a tiny little difference,  it is well worth the effort.
So what is your word going to be?  Are you going to make a difference in your own life or someone else’s?
Happy New Year!
