Weekend Fun

Time to get out the patriotic shoes and head for some fun. I made these using my White Old Navy flip flops. ($1.50) and tied some ribbon around the straps. (Note to self.. make appointment to get toes painted.)

We went to the Farmer’s Market… There were thousands of people, which really surprised me since it was a Holiday! But I didn’t realize that there was going to be a 4th of July Parade down town, too… We found a parking spot pretty quick, in a parking garage right across from The Grove. This is the view from the garage. Our destination… Just past the trees.

We walked across the street and through the alley…

And immediately saw this. Right in the heart of the city.

This is my first time this year. WOW! It’s almost like Arts in the Park! There are alot of art booths. And the children playing in the fountains was really fun to watch. Look at the bright red copper Sockeye!

Bird feeders with Bling!

Oh to be Young again!!!

We wandered all around. The east end had all of the food booths. Alot of Organic veggies, fresh fruits, pies, cookies, treats; You name it!!!

See the blue glass building the the distance? That is the parking garage.

I bought some of these…..

and these…………………

I stopped and watch a few minutes of the parade then headed back to the car.

What a fun way to start the day!!

Follow Your Dreams

I went to a SU party a couple of weeks ago and took advantage of the discontinued items that were on sale. I love this Raspberry Tart paper! So many shades of pink! I made two cards. Similar, yet different.

Aren’t they fun?? I used Cameo Coral and Real Rose CS. The CTMH dimensional elements are painted with Tim Holz crackle paint. Worn Lipstick and Tattered Rose. I punched stars and Covered the Cameo with Clear glitter and the Rose with Diamond Dust. I stamped the sentiment with CTMH – D1152 – Follow your Dreams. Attached a pink Gingham ribbon and a tiny lime button. I scallop punched the edge and added a corner punch, too. Edges are sponged with CTMH – Watermelon ink.

Template from CTMH ‘Wishes’– 3 Wishes pg 109.

Hey Chickie!

If you know me very well… then you know I have a thing about chickens. I really haven’t bought anything or painted anything new for a couple of years. Anna Wight over at Whipper Snapper , designs the most bestest stamps! I love her chickens… You’ve got to read her BLOG. She lives in Texas and takes great pictures of all her cows, chickens and other pets. She names them all, too!

I created this using the set – Crazy for Chickens. Go figure!! I used CTMH Creme Brulee, White, Sorbet, and Key Lime. The background is stamped with CHF backgrounder – Fine Gingham . I stamped the image with brown stazon ink and water colored with my twinkling H20’s. I stamped the little chickie a little crooked so I used my black pigma pen and added a couple of little lines for movement. That way it looks like I did it on purpose! A true artist at work!

Wisteria

This was a pretty simple card to make. I used my Nestabilites die cut and cut all layers using the new Basic Grey Wisteria paper. I crinkled up the paper, layered it and sewed a button in the middle.

All the edges are sponged with CTMH Purple Pansy ink. I added some pretty place ribbon and stamped the CHF Ornamental Beauty sentiment, etc..
