Fallicious

I’m in love with Fall!  This year is even better than ever!   The beautiful colors are staying on the tree’s longer than normal.  We have had a few near record temperatures last week in the mid 70’s.  This week is starting off mid 60’s.  It’s crazy to think it’s so nice and it’s November!   My window is open today letting in the fresh air.

I took this picture early one morning last week.  The sun was coming up and reflecting on the tree’s across the field, behind my house.  I had to get the step stool out so that I could stand and look over the fence.   It looks like a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow.

I hope you’re enjoying the beautiful Fall weather too….

Please pray for the East Coast.   My heart goes out to them.  It also makes me proud to see how we as American’s have pulled together to help them.  It is inspiring.  Maybe there is a little hope for our country.

Be Mine

I remember as a child, making special Valentine mailboxes or giant envelopes at school for Valentine’s Day…  I always gave a Valentine to everyone in the class and could never understand why some of the kids only gave to part of the class.  How rude is that?

I still like to make Valentines.    I would give one to everyone if I had time to make them.  Remember my word this year?  Choose.    I am spending less time on the card making.  I am choosing to do less and focus on a few other things.

Here is a sampling of the cards I made.  Some of the pictures are a little blurry.  I was in a hurry when taking them.

Products used:   Stamps  - CTMH - C1500 Under the Sea, My Favorite Things – Love You With All My Heart.  Fill My Heart With Joy. Crafty Secrets – Bathing Beauties. Technique Tuesday – Out of the World.  The Craft’s Meow – Fun{tashe}tic.  Distress ink – Barn Door, Vintage Photo.  White gel pen.  Button. Twine. Copic markers. Silhouette SD -  hearts.   CTMH – Cranberry Red, Hollyhock, Baby Pink.  SU – Cherry Cobbler. Echo Park - Yours Truly.  My Minds Eye – Love Me.

You can read more about the Cupid Corn Cookie Bark HERE and you’ll find a recipe there, too.

I put chunks of the bark in cupcake papers and I’m taking it to work today to share.

FYI... Today is also My Handyman's birthday.. He's not much into celebrating or having his picture taken.. One of these day's I'll sneak a current picture and share.

Munchies

When you feel like a treat, what do you like to munch on? I prefer salty snacks. My favorites are Italian Gardetto’s and Crunchy Cheetos.

And….. thanks to my Daughter in Law (Jennifer)… She suggested I try the Italian Cheese blend Gardetto’s. It didn’t take me long to get addicted to them.

If I ever have a sweet tooth I prefer Hot Tamales or Starbursts. Oh and Red Licorice.

I’ve never been much of a chocolate person. It’s ok occasionally. I’ll eat a brownie or something but I never buy chocolate candy. GASP!!

What is on your snack shelf in the pantry?

Chunky Monkey

I scream! You scream! We all scream for Ice Cream!!!

Who doesn't love ice cream? My favorite is plain ole vanilla with sliced banana's, a little chocolate syrup drizzled and a few chopped walnuts. I hardly ever eat it but occasionally get a craving.

My Handyman and I had the craving. I decided to be bold and try something new. Ok! I'm probably the last person on earth to try Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream! I was laughing at all of their names! They're some pretty creative dudes! Cake Batter, Berried Treasure, Chubby Hubby, Fossil Fuel, Karamel Sutra, Phish Food, Turtle Soup. Then I spotted it! Chunky Monkey!

Banana ice cream with fudge chunks and walnuts! It sat in the freezer for two days before I had any. OMG! What a delight it was! I might have to try Chubby Hubby next!
