The {A} Family

I’ve know this family for quite a few years.  Here is a sneak peak of our evening.  We had a great time and I got quite a few great shots.

Mr. Blue Sky

Sunday I took several shots of the sky throughout the day… The pretty blue sky and the white fluffy clouds.

The morning sunrise was spectacular.  (all shots are straight out of the camera)  I love the golden orange of the rays reflecting off the clouds.

7:00 AM

3:00 PM  (See the corn tops from the field behind my house?)   I used to love laying out in the yard as a child and watch the clouds float by while trying to see what shapes were forming in them.    I still do this occasionally.

Sugar and Spice

Sugar and Spice and everything nice.   That’s what little girls are made of..

I found this fun little pack of My Minds Eye – Lime Twist at my local craft store.   Its full of fun, bright and girly papers.

I painted this Maya Road heart with Tim Holtz Distress Crackle paint – Fired Brick.    I then attached it to the sentiment and added a little extra bling

Products used:  My Minds Eye – Lime Twist. Verve – To the Moon. Distress Crackle Paint – Red Brick. Maya Road Chipboard heart. Rhinestones. Seam binding ribbon. Die cut- PTI. Spellbinders – Flying Beauty. Vellum. Distress ink – vintage photo. Stickles. Pin.

A New Little Someone

I love pretty paper.

October Afternoon has the best papers ever!   I love their Modern Homemaker pack.   It is so vintage and oh so fun!   And of course Red is one of my favorite colors.

I stamped a couple of flower images from the Verve set – Hope Blooms.   I colored them in with my Copic Makers then cut them out, layered them and attached together with a CTMH pewter brad.

I think the little strip of black ribbon really finished it off.

Products used:  October Afternoon – Modern Homemaker.  Distress ink – Vintage photo. Verve – Hope Blooms.  CTMH – Breeze.  Sewing tool. Copic markers. CTMH – Pewter brad.  Ribbon.

Liberty Mohawk

I did the following to create this digital scrapbook page in Photoshop Elements.  I am still using version 7 which works great for me.

  • Use adjustment layers to enhance photographs
  • Create a photo mask with brushes
  • Create a polkadot pattern
  • Create a polkadot brush to use as an eraser
  • Extract an item in a photograph from a solid background
  • Create two-tone stripes
  • Create a starburst pattern
  • Tweak letterspacing (kerning)

Carter had a nice Mohawk for a couple of weeks.  His Dad sculpted it into a nice Liberty Mohawk to celebrate July 4th.   A few days later he was back to the buzzed cut for summer.
