Busy Hands

I made a few cards the last couple of weeks.   I didn’t get out my good camera and take any pictures.  (what was I thinking?)      I did snap a few for instagram as I was creating.   This will give you an idea of what I created.

Poppy Birthday

I sat down last weekend and spent some quality time in my craft room.  I’m working on a couple of mini scrapbook projects. I’ll be sharing those in the future.

I also made a couple of cards.

I’m still not very good at quick and simple.  I love all of the details and embellishments. There is just something about all of the layering that I love; and of course the distressed edges, too.

Button, Button, Who has the Button??

I’ve been collecting buttons for many years.    Why?   Who knows!  Why does anyone collect anything?  I just love them.  I use them on painted projects.  I use them on paper crafting projects…. Cards, Scrapbooking, etc..    I’ve even used them when I’ve had one missing on a clothing item…    Plus…. They’re pretty and colorful and well…..  buttons.  

I painted this button box in 1995.   It has been roughed up and had a lot of attention.   My kids and nieces have dumped them out, counted them, organized them and probably lost a few.   My Grandson has even had his hands in them a few times.   

These are in my craft room…

My Mama even found this little coin clutch for me last time she was at The Coast…   I just cant bring myself to cut the buttons off of it.   It will stay displayed on my shelf.

Knobs

I have this shelf that has been sitting in my closet since last fall. I found it at an old barn bazaar and paid $1 for it.  Yes that is right.  Pocket change.  That is my kind of shopping.  Basically I own allot of other peoples junk!

I decided to hang it about a month ago and stacked all of my jelly jars full of buttons on it.    Its great wall decor and makes it quick to find button colors that I want.    Can you say button addiction? 

I was in a local craft store last week and found these cute little knobs.   I predrilled holes in the shelf then attached the knobs.

Aren’t they fun?

I have my little scripture cards hanging from one of them.   I may hang a couple of my small scrapbooks, too..

All about ME

Since it’s my Birthday week, (Thanks to my Family and Friends for all of the Birthday wishes!)  and It’s all about ME, I’m going to post a few more things that I love.     Who am I kidding?  It’s always about ME!  Isn’t that what our blogs are?  We post about things that we love or hate and that are important to us…
 
These are all things around my house, that I love, collect or have created.   I Scrapbook, I make cards, I paint, I collect, I create, I take pictures. I have stuff..  probably too much stuff…  I’m pretty good about getting rid of most of the old stuff.  I don’t like too much clutter..     It’s all just STUFF!   For some reason… we love our STUFF!    Don’t sweat the small stuff..
 

 

 



By the way…  did you notice that I have an Etsy shop?   I’m not sure how it will do…  I listed a couple of things and hope to sell some of my cards in the future..    Link is at the top right.   I bought a 500 ct package of these paper bags.  I finally sewed a bunch of them, created a pattern and I’m now selling them.

Punch, Scrunch and Embellish

I seen this idea on someone’s blog a few weeks ago.   I cant remember where,  or I would share the page.   I pulled out the memory strand from my brain to create these.   

First I had to search out an old book that I wouldn’t mind punching shapes out of.   I went to the closest thrift store a couple of days ago to search for my treasure.    It couldn’t be just any old book.   I wanted something that showed positive words.   No bad words!  How would that look on a pretty flower that I attached to a card?    Anyway.  Good ideas would be; an old hard bound children’s book,  maybe some poetry?   I found an older daily devotional book for woman and old thesaurus published in 1936.   The pages are nice and yellow in the thesaurus.   I’m going to continue my search and try to find an old hymn book or sheet music.   I spent a total of $2.99 for the two books that I found that are well over 300 pages each.  I can get 9 flower punches per page.


Depending on the thickness of the paper,  punch 3-5 layers for each flower.   Scrunch them up really good.   I used a sharp darning needle to punch in the middle then attached a brad to hold them together.  Attach a button to the middle with a piece of double sided foam tape.   


Scrunch a little more after you attach the button; if your heart desires.   You know that it is good to follow the desires of your heart!   Especially this time of the year!   

Heart Day is coming up and I think these pretty little posies will look fabulous on some of my valentines.  That’s why I used red and pink buttons.  

Quick, simple and thrifty!   Now that’s my style!
