Accordion

I made this accordion card a few weeks ago and forgot to share it.
It makes a fun little card.    First cut a strip of cardstock 10” x  2 1/4”.  Score every two inches then fold into an accordion.   I used my Nestabilities label punch for the outside.  Cut or punch two of these.  (Must be bigger than your inside accordion.   Glue one to the front and one to the back.

Stamp and color images.   Attach a ribbon around the outside of book to tie shut.    Write your sentiment and give to someone you love.  You can make these in various sizes.  Just adjust the measurements so that you can score them evenly.

Products used:   My Minds Eye papers.  CTMH – Cranberry Red, Topiary.   Glitter. Prismacolor pencils. Ribbon. Nestabilities. Distress ink. Flourishes- Strawberries.

Paper Roses

I looked at the Tuesday Trigger challenge over at Moxi Fab World and it triggered this memory hidden deep in my brain.  I was reading a blog a few months ago and seen these amazing paper flowers.   Well…   today is the day I pulled that memory strand out and made a few.    What fun!   I wish I could give credit to the blog….  but I don’t remember that part.

Warning…  I took lots of pictures to show these off.

Basically you cut about a 5 inch circle; cut it a little wavy.  You then spiral cut it to the center.  (Leave a nice circle at the end to attach spiral to). Now start winding to the center. When done, let is spring open a little and squirt some glue down the center.    I inked the edges of the paper before winding mine.   When dry, I brushed on some Shimmerz to make them sparkle.   I then cut out some leaves and antiqued them, too.

Products used:   CTMH – Tulip, Cocoa.  SU Papers. Shimmerz. Tim Holtz – Distress ink – Tea Dye.  Digi Scripture verse – Sweet N Sassy. Ribbon – Etsy -  MemrieMare's Shop. Nestabilities.

Knobs

I have this shelf that has been sitting in my closet since last fall. I found it at an old barn bazaar and paid $1 for it.  Yes that is right.  Pocket change.  That is my kind of shopping.  Basically I own allot of other peoples junk!

I decided to hang it about a month ago and stacked all of my jelly jars full of buttons on it.    Its great wall decor and makes it quick to find button colors that I want.    Can you say button addiction?

I was in a local craft store last week and found these cute little knobs.   I predrilled holes in the shelf then attached the knobs.

Aren’t they fun?

I have my little scripture cards hanging from one of them.   I may hang a couple of my small scrapbooks, too..

Violets

Every time I hear the word Violet,  I think of my Great Grandma Violet Spillman..  AKA Spilly.  She was quite the character and joker.    She was only about 4 foot 11” and square.   Yes I have midgets in my family..  amongst other secrets..   Grandpa Bug used to say she was just as easy to step over as walk around.  He was tall and thin.

My card today is for the Sketch Challenge over at Moxi Fab World

I used my Paper Trey Ink stamp – Year of Flowers – Violets, and colored it with Twinkling H20’s using my water brush.   I then cut them out and attached to the card.    Notice the Accordion paper ribbon?  That is something new I tried, also.

Products used:   CTMH – D1406 – True Friends.  PTI – Year of flowers- Violets.  CTMH – X7114 Bella. CTMH – Creme Brulee, Olive, Smoky Plum.  Twinkling H20’s.  Creme Brulee ribbon. Button. Twine. Stickles. Distress ink – Tea Dye. Nestabilities. Water brush.
