Flutter

My heart is a flutter with the new Spellbinder’s Die’s.  This new butterfly is fabulous!  I love how they nest together.

Happiness is like a butterfly which,

when pursued, is always beyond our

grasp, but, if you will sit down

quietly, may alight upon you.

I used the Viva La Verve, June wk 1 sketch for my card.

Sunshine

Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy.

Sunshine in my eyes can make me cry.

Sunshine on the water looks so lovely.

Sunshine almost always makes me high.

                                    Mr. John Denver

Go watch his video HERE.

Last weekend I got sunburned sitting by the river while fishing.  My face is peeling.  My lips are blistered and peeling.  This week…. rain, wind and cold.   This morning it was 35 degree’s and I hear we have a chance of snow tomorrow.   Really?  Is this a bad joke for my BBQ and everyone else camping and picnicking?

I created my sunshine card for one of our VP’s that will be retiring next week.   It looks like I’m going to have to create my own sunshine!

The sun doesn't think, compare or judge. It just shines for all life.
Let the sun be a reflection of the teacher within.
Just shine ...

Products used:  Verve – Enjoy Today. Feel the Sun. Shapeability. My Minds Eye. Distress ink – vintage photo. Copic markers. Seam binding ribbon. Twine. Tag. Sewing tool. Stickles.

Mother Dear

I hope everyone had a fabulous Mother’s Day.  I had to wait to post this card until after I gave it to my mom.  I was able to spend the afternoon with her. We went to dinner at Famous Dave’s.  We met my Daughter Ashley, David and his Parents and Sister.  It was Delish

Grown don't mean nothing to a mother.  A child is a child.  They get bigger, older, but grown?  What's that suppose to mean?  In my heart it don't mean a thing.  ~Toni Morrison, Beloved, 1987

I created this for Viva La Verve challenge.  You can see more HERE.  And.. guess what?  I won the challenge for April.  I get the entire new June stamp release from Verve.   Exciting huh?

A mom forgives us all our faults, not to mention one or two we don't even have.  ~Robert Brault,

”Every one of us can mother someone—beginning, of course, with the children in our own families but extending far beyond. Every one of us can show by word and by deed that the work of women in the Lord’s kingdom is magnificent and holy. I repeat: We are all mothers in Israel, and our calling is to love and help lead the rising generation through the dangerous streets of mortality.” Sheri L. Dew, “Are We Not All Mothers?,” Ensign, Nov 2001, 96

My Favorite Peeps

I created this for one of the Viva La Verve sketches.   (I am way behind!)   I’m pretty sure I won’t catch up either.    That’s ok though.   I’ll just keep pressing forward.  This Verve stamp set – Chicks Rules is so fun and has some great sentiments!

I pulled out some old paper out of my stash to make this card.  It’s from a retired pack by CTMH.  The colors are fabulous.  I need to use up my old paper. There were always so many new designs the older ones get put to the bottom of the stack.    GOAL -  use up and enjoy the older papers.

Products used:   CTMH – Whoops A Daisy. Sunkiss Yellow, Watermelon, Ocean. Copic markers. Stickles, Rhinestones. Distress ink – Vintage photo. Verve – Chicks Rule!

Berry Sweet

Because anything that looks evenly remotely like Spring makes me jump with joy….  I decided to use the papers from K & Co. – Berry Sweet for the week 3 Viva La Verve challenge card.

I haven’t used this technique for quite a while.     I stamped the image from the CTMH stamp set – Dreams Come True. (D1470).  I used bubble gum ink and rocked the edges with Tulip.    After cutting out the flower image, I sprayed with adhesive then attached a piece of dryer sheet to it then cut around the edges.   I then rubbed a little glitter on it.   Isn’t it pretty?

Here is the template.  What kind of papers and stamps will you use?

Products used:   K & Co – Berry Sweet.   CTMH – Tulip, Watermelon, Bubblegum. D1470 – Dreams Come True. Pretty pins.  Embossing folder. PTI – die cut. Sanding tool. Dryer sheet. Spray adhesive. Glitter. Sewing tool. Seam binding ribbon.

Count Your Many Blessings

I am blessed.  The end!

If you sit down and ponder for a minute and really think about it.  You too will know how blessed you are.

I made this card for the Viva La Verve March Challenge – week 2 over at SplitCoast Stampers.

I used my nestabilities to cut out the large circle. I water colored the image with Twinkling H20’s.  It gave the flower a dreamy look. Maybe my contacts are just cloudy tonight.

I cut out a square from an old book page just a smidge bigger than the painted image.   I wadded it up, then distressed it with vintage photo ink  then wrapped it around the image and glued down.

Products used:   Cosmo Cricket – Togetherness. CTMH – Tulip. Verve – Many Blessings. Rhinestones. Twinkling H20’s. Old book page. Seam binding ribbon. Bakers twine. Distress ink – vintage photo. Sewing tool.

Birds and Butterflies

I made these cards using the 4th week Viva la Verve challenge template.

It’s a pretty basic template but I didn’t find it very special or maybe I just didn’t have my Mojo and not in much of a creative mood.

This is what I came up with.

I stamped the images with versa mark ink, then rubbed them with various shades of chalk.  I covered them with Diamond glaze to make them nice and shiny.  After they dried over night I cut the images out.

Notice the flower?

Products used:   Retired CTMH paper packet.  Hollyhock. Chocolate. Vanilla. D1452 – Find Your Style. Chalks. Diamond Glaze. Homemade paper flower. Vintage brad. Pin. Satin Ribbon. Cocoa ink.
