Blustery

I took Scissorbella and Prince Charming out a couple of weekends ago to take some photo’s for their Christmas card.  It was a cold and blustery day…   I think the wind is still chasing all of the snow clouds away!  I got some fun and silly pictures.

This is the card I created for them.

Merry Christmas!

Sweet 25!

My baby turned 25 a couple of weeks ago!  Oh my how the years have flown by.   A quarter of a century!   WOW!

She has always loved ice cream!  (it comes from my Mom’s side of the family)

When I found this sweet Paper Trey ink stamp I had to get it along with their coordinating die cut.

Here she is with her sweet hubby David, taken last week while they were on vacation at Disneyland.   She got to see Ariel!  Her all time favorite Disney character from The Little Mermaid.

Products used:   PTI – Sweet As Can Be, My Minds Eye – Blush. CTMH – Hollyhock. Distress ink – Vintage photo. Buttons. Twine. Stickles – Frosted Lace.  Seam binding ribbon. Fantastix – Champagne mist.

The {Grandpups}!

I had the pleasure of babysitting the Grandpups for a few days while Ashley and David were off to Church Camp.

These little critters sure have a lot of energy and charm.  They  are quick and jump around the yard like little gazelles.

Let me introduce you to Vinnie…   he’s  the special one…. but oh so cute!   He’s weighs about a pound more than his brother Vinnie.  He has to take meds for his seizures.

He looks like a little deer prancing around the yard.   He should have been named Prancer.   His nose is covered with dirt from digging for bugs in the yard.

Meet Vinnie,  the fast and the furious…. but he’s a lover . He loves to cuddle and have his belly tickled.  (I had a hard time capturing a photo of him)

Here he is to say a special Hello before running off with the speed of light.

They love each other and play well together….  just like any sibling would.

I’m sure they look forward to getting their own big yard to play in, soon.

Enjoy!

Wedding Season

Wedding Season will soon be here.  Brides and their Mothers are busily planning for the big day.   One of my Blogger friends,  Cherie over at Bakow Babble has a daughter getting married soon.   She has been trying to get ideas from her readers.

As most of you know, my Daughter Ashley was married to her Prince David in June of 2010.    I had fun going through the 5000+ photo’s to pick out a few to share.    This will give Cherie a few fun ideas.  We did almost everything ourselves. From building the backdrop to painting, to sewing flowers.  I hope you enjoy the slideshow..

Shabby Chic

Scissorbella recently changed jobs.   Her first job as a hair stylist was at an Aveda salon. She worked there for almost 3 years.  She loved her boss, she loved her co-workers. She worked for commission.   Her goal was to get a good client base and move to a salon that she rented her own space so that she could make more money, and she can make her own hours.   She is now doing that.   She asked me to make her a sign to post at her station .  The salon (Rejuv MedSpa) has a shabby chic decor so she wanted something to match.  She’ll buy a nice little 5x7 frame to put this in.   Name blocked out to protect the innocent.

I made my pretty little paper roses and spritzed them with some Shimmerz Spritz,  then painted on some champagne mist ink.   I dry brushed white ink on the background paper to distress a little bit.

Products used:  CTMH – Black. My Minds Eye. SU champagne mist ink. Shimmerz Spritz. Seam binding ribbon. SU punch.  American acrylic paint.

I scream You scream….

We all scream of Ice Cream!

I remember when I was a teenager, My Grandma Beth came to Boise to visit.   Dad gathered us all up and took us to Smith’s Food King (no longer here).  They had hand dipped cones.   My Grandma loved ice cream.   I remember her getting a double scooped cone.  I swear each scoop was the size of a soft ball.   It was the heat of the Summer and she had ice cream running down her arm and dripping off her elbow..  but she didn’t care.  I remember that look of pure bliss on her face….

Today is my youngest child , Scissorbella’s 24th birthday.  (AKA – Ashley)   I think Grandma Beth rubbed off on her.  She simply adores ice cream.   I always had to have a carton in the freezer.   I think she ate a bowl every night.   There were times she would call me at work, all worried because she forgot to tell me she was out of ice cream and that I really needed to pick some up on my way home from work.

(Inside of card)

Well..  Ashley and David received an ice cream maker for their wedding.   I wonder if she’s used it yet?

Happy Birthday to My Sweet Daughter!

Products used:   Mo’s Image. SU paper. Copics. CTMH – Ocean. SU punch. PTI – Birthday Bash Sentiments. Nestabilities – Labels 10. Ribbon. Distress ink – Vintage Photo.

Love is the Flower

I decided to dig out the paper and make an 8x8 scrap page.   No digi this time.   Gasp!  I used the Verve stamp set – Loves Flower.

I ran some textured vellum through my Big Shot and embossed it then rubbed some vintage photo ink on it.  I also used that same vellum to cut out some butterflies.

Isn’t that a pretty little flower?  I stamped two images, colored them with my copic markers then cut the middle image out and layered it, using dimensionals, on to the other image.

Here’s a little closer look.

I love the dyed seam binding that is for sale at several Etsy shops.  Or…..  you can dye your own..   Its all crinkly and fun.  I put a piece of sticky strip across the page, then bunch and crunch the ribbon to the strip. Now I've just got to find a pretty little frame to put it in.

Products used:   Verve – Loves Flower.  Copics. CTMH – Buttercup, breeze. Pin. Jewels. Stickles. Antique photo distress ink. Seam binding ribbon.  Nestabilities – Labels 10. Vellum.

“A dream you dream alone is only a dream. A dream you dream together is reality” John Lennon

Love is the answer, and you know that for sure; Love is a flower, you've got to let it grow.
John Lennon

If someone thinks that love and peace is a cliche that must have been left behind in the Sixties, that's his problem. Love and peace are eternal.
John Lennon

We've got this gift of love, but love is like a precious plant. You can't just accept it and leave it in the cupboard or just think it's going to get on by itself. You've got to keep watering it. You've got to really look after it and nurture it.

My Offspring + 1

Last night I went to a BBQ at my Baby Sister’s House .    It’s not often that I get a chance to snap a picture of all my Offspring together…

Eric, Ashley, (SIL) David, Janelle

The kids had fun on the Trampoline.   Carter was laughing at the other kids on the tramp.

Ed did it

Well not exactly.  I’ve been busy editing wedding photo’s.  I have over 4000.   GASP!      Scissorbella doesn’t want me to post any until she see’s them…  well..  I figure a couple won’t hurt.   I’ll just share two with you…  and show you what a little bit of photo editing can do…   Of course having a beautiful bride doesn’t hurt, either..  There are about 30 photo's ...  watch for subtle changes.

Oops!  I may have snuck one extra in there!!   I’m her Mother!  She’ll forgive me!
