December Daily

This is the first year I’m doing  December Daily.

This is a scrapbooking project that you create a scrapbook page or two for each day in December.

I chose a quick and easy project.  I am using digital templates from a class at Scrapaneers.  The class is Discover December by Kelly Sill.  There are more complicated digital classes available.  A lot of people make their pages out of paper and embellishments.   You can find daily lists for ideas at Pinterest.    I get a daily email with a photo prompt through the class I am taking.

I chose this digital class because I am so busy and don’t have hours to spend every day taking photo’s and putting a page together.  The beauty of using a premade template is that I can change paper and add embellishments if I choose.  What a fun what to remember December and spark a little bit of Christmas Joy.

Sorry the images aren’t super clear.  We’ve had dreary foggy weather and not very good lighting for taking photo’s.

This is the view out of my window.  The temperature has been in the single digits and we’ve had snow on the ground for over a week.  I know it’s not as bad as a few other states, but winter hit us early.  We barely had a fall season.

Brush Strokes

Real quick cuz it is after the holidays,  Christmas is over and all the goodies are put away until next year.   Here are a couple of things I painted for others.

I took these late at night real quick so the pictures aren’t the best.   It seems I have less and less time to do what I love.   I really need to do something about that.  The problem is that I have too many things that I love  :)    I signed up for a Project52 again this year.   What was I thinking?   It may turn into a project 12.

Wishing you the best New Year ever!!

The Creative Season

This time of year is crazy busy for me.    Almost every waking hour that I am at home is spent painting and making things for custom orders and gifts. I don’t do any photography after mid November.  Here is a sneak peak of one little thing I’ve painted. (Sorry I can’t post projects here before Christmas).  My little Granddaughter Kendall loves the color purple and recently discovered owls.   I thought she might like this little ornament.

I also made about 10 of these frames for family and passed them out on Thanksgiving so they could get some use out of them this year.   I used various background papers and cut out the verse with vinyl.   Isn’t it fun?

The first Saturday in December is a big girls out day.  We get up at the crack of dawn and head out to the local Holiday bazaars, vintage shops and Christmas show.   It’s usually my Sister, Mom, Daughter in Law and a few friends and lasts ALL DAY!  (I really need to convince my daughters to go with us.)   We usually have a list of about 15 places we want to go but end up at about half of them.   We’re in no hurry.  We just want to enjoy each other’s company, hopefully find a couple of gifts and just have fun.

I found this silly black boa at one of the vintage shops and had to show it off.   My sister forced me to wear the hat.

Last week I gave a talk at church.  It was good for me to take a couple of hours of my time to sit down, study, ponder and prepare.   It was a comfort to me.   My young women at church did a service project last week for someone in need.   This week we will be going caroling throughout the neighborhood and will be passing out goodies.  It is the Season of Peace and Love.

I haven’t made any Christmas cards.  I haven’t even bought any to send out.  That doesn’t mean I don’t care.  I can’t do it all and that’s OK.    I will spend the next week with Family and just enjoy the Christmas season. We will gather, eat, play games, sing Christmas songs and just enjoy each other’s company. My Family means the world to me and being with them is the best thing ever!

I hope the Spirit of Christmas is with your Family.  If you don’t have any family near, go out and serve others.   I guarantee it is the best feeling ever and you will be blessed.

Merry Christmas!

Making Magical Memories

Now that the holidays are over, it’s time to get those photo’s out and make something with them.   The Grandkids had a lot of fun playing Hungry Hungry Hippo’s.  It was so cute seeing them so excited hitting the hippo’s so that it’s mouth would open and gobble up the marbles.  Of course when Carter got the special colored marble it was the best thing in the world because he was the WINNER!

The End and a New Beginning

Well..  2012 is over. Christmas was wonderful.  Now I just need to take down all of my decorations and move forward.

We all have a blank palette for Twenty Thirteen (2013). What kind of masterpiece are you going to paint? I've been sick for 4 days. That is not exactly how I wanted to start the new year. I'm starting to feel a lot better this afternoon. I've been jotting down project ideas for the new year.

I jotted this down Monday to add to my January journal.

2013

I finished up a few pages for my December Scrap Journal Life book last week.  Here are some of them for you to enjoy.

Chilly Chums

Here is another project I painted this year.  Penguins are so cute and fun.  They are like Snowmen.  You can keep them out all winter if you choose.
