Today is My Day

Today is my birthday… No big deal really…   It’s just another day and I haven’t really celebrated it for quite a few years..   anyway… nothing to toot a horn at.  :)  Here are a few things that are nice about having a Spring birthday..
The Garden shops are starting to get flowers in for planting.




Tanner is getting Frisky.   He runs circles around the yard and loves to play fetch.   The grass is starting to turn green.

What’s up with his leg?   He must be getting ready to turn the corner.

My African Violets look Amazing.  I’ve been trying to use natural light, no flash.    Flash can wash out the color but it can also help eliminate shadows when used.

 
And when we do have an unexpected, cold snowy day… (it is still Winter after all.)  The sun comes out and it looks like this..

Its won’t be long and we’ll be smelling the heavenly scent of fresh plowed dirt!    Only a spudgirl would think that way.

Going Green

That’s what everyone seems to be doing these days.  Going Green.    Last weeks Tuesday Trigger over at Moxi Fab World  was to create a card using Green.  Well…  Green it is!  I’ve noticed in the art world that there have been alot of monochromatic creations.

Since today is St Patrick’s day…. I guess it’s as good a time as any, to share a green card.

Sugar Rush

I don’t know why this made me think of Girl Scout Cookies…  but you know its that time of year again..  Limit…  2 cookies per day…  I swear!  That is my limit…  not one single crumb more..   The dog can have the crumbs..
A couple of months ago I bought one of Basic Grey’s card making kits.  They’re great…  Just put them together and add a little extra embellishing as desired.   And you all know…   my heart desires!    I always have to add something…   Even if it is just a little doodling with my black journaling pen…  or sponging the edges to  add a little distressed look. 
Warning!   Massive quantity of images.   You know how I am…  The more the merrier..








Should I make this into two posts?  Should I share the rest tomorrow?   NO way!  I want you to drool and desire.. 
What the heck am I thinking?   Don’t drool too much..  I don’t want a big pile of spittle on your keyboard.. then you could possibly get electrocuted and wouldn’t be able to visit again.   Get control of yourself!  What is wrong with you?..  Its only cards!  Its only paper!  Its only a crafters paradise.   Take a deep breath!  Much better.   Now that you are calmed down.  Here are a few more.

Love Ewe

Oops!  I scheduled this a little late.  This is last weeks Mojo Monday challenge.    Thank you for visiting my blog..  I love Ewe all!

I’ve had this Love Ewe stamp by Unity for quite awhile and this is the first time it’s seen ink.   Do you have stamps like that?  Do you buy some that you can’t live without…  then they go in the stamp pile and you forget about them?    I need to so some Spring Cleaning and sell a few of mine..

Bounce Bounce Bounce

Spring has Sprung!    Well last weekend I thought it had.. That crazy Mother Nature.   She is such a tease!   
Last weekend My Handyman and I went out to enjoy the beautiful, sunny and warm Spring day..  It was almost 60!   Yesterday it snowed!   Gotta love living in Idaho!  
Anywho…    we decided to get out of the house…  Cabin fever can take a tole on a person…   We decided to go to the MK Nature center  (Downtown Boise) and take a walk around and look at the wildlife.   It’s a great place to take a little stroll..   This time of year the rebirthing has begun.   Birds are nesting, fish are swimming , brooks are babbling, and a tiny hint of green is starting to show.

No fishing zone!   Let me tell you…  this really put the bug in me…  Time to get my 2010 license.  Beautiful Rainbow Trout…  My guestimate….  3 – 5 lbs each..


My favorite!   The geese!   I love geese!


Wait!   Maybe its the fish…  I’m so indecisive!    I just cant decide…   I love wildlife…  Thanks Dad for instilling this into my soul…  the beauty of nature leaves me in awe!

Did I mention the Wood duck???   Look at his brilliant red eye…   Stunning!

Amazing Lace

This card features lace and doilies.  Moxie Fab World is having a challenge featuring just that..    I just happened to have a package of these little paper doilies that I bought at the dollar tree..    I plan on using some of them for the endearment signs I’m making for Scissorbella’s wedding. 

I got out my Tim Holtz Vintage Photo distress ink and sponged and rubbed over the edges of the paper doily.   The background paper is from Basic Grey’s Porcelain.  It is images of lace, too.

I used by ODB stamp – Amazing Grace Hymn  and stamped on another lacy sheet of paper from Basic Grey – Porcelain. I tore all the edges then I smeared  the ink and sponged.

The flower is from ODB set- Grown in Grace.  I colored with Twinkling H20’s and added a little bit of Stickles for bling.  The card is finished off with a piece of lace.

Products used-  CTMH – Colonial white.  Royal lace paper doily. ODB – Grown in Grace, Amazing Grace Hymn. Twinkling H20’s. Stickles. Tim Holtz distress ink – Vintage photo. Basic Grey – Porcelain. Lace.
