I {Heart} the Ocean!

I was on vacation at the Oregon coast for about 7 days.  It was so nice.   The weather was pretty good.  We had fog for a few days but it wasn’t too cold. It was about 65-73 most of the week   We had fun roaming around on the beach, watching the whales and of course eating Clam Chowder  and Fish and Chips everywhere we went.

Agate Beach is really sandy and has a lot of small rolling dunes. (Ash and Dave)

This is pretty much what the coast looked like all week.  Fog!

It was windy, foggy and the sea was pretty rough.   Ashley and I went out on a Zodiac inflatable to whale watch.  We had quite the ride out.   We found a couple of whales and were about 30 feet from them .  One of them breached once and we saw several whale tails.  They were too quick for me to snap a photo.  I didn’t take my good camera out.  It was too misty. It was awesome!  They were about 40 feet long.  This one is diving after coming up for air.

Spring Fever

Here are a few more photo’s from Saturday of My son and his family.     My Grandson was so funny…   There were dozens of Geese in the park and Carter was having a blast chasing them..  I’m surprised they didn’t chase after him… 
He is quite the chatterbox..   and dramatic.   He had me laughing the whole time  and he sure knows how to say cheese when it’s picture time.    Even if he’s not looking at the camera…  Cheese!

Today is My Day

Today is my birthday… No big deal really…   It’s just another day and I haven’t really celebrated it for quite a few years..   anyway… nothing to toot a horn at.  :)  Here are a few things that are nice about having a Spring birthday..
The Garden shops are starting to get flowers in for planting.




Tanner is getting Frisky.   He runs circles around the yard and loves to play fetch.   The grass is starting to turn green.

What’s up with his leg?   He must be getting ready to turn the corner.

My African Violets look Amazing.  I’ve been trying to use natural light, no flash.    Flash can wash out the color but it can also help eliminate shadows when used.

 
And when we do have an unexpected, cold snowy day… (it is still Winter after all.)  The sun comes out and it looks like this..

Its won’t be long and we’ll be smelling the heavenly scent of fresh plowed dirt!    Only a spudgirl would think that way.

Daily Disappearance

As I was driving home today, I was awestruck by the daily disappearance of the sun. I was able to pull over and grab my small little Cannon Elph and snap this photo as the trailing edge of the sun's disk disappeared below the horizon.

The colors are just fabulous! I am constantly amazed by God's artwork with the Owyhee Mountains as his backdrop.

Disaster Area

How am I supposed to be creative when my craft room looks like this?





I finally got it clean and I'm now ready to start on Christmas Projects! Don't laugh! It will be here before we know it!

Spiders

Remember the spider that crawled across my lap? The next day as I was driving home I spotted him crawling across my windshield! ARGH!! I didn't want him hitching a ride on me again!! He stood on his back legs and showed his fangs! I pulled over at the gas station and got rid of him once and for all!!





That same night I let the pooch out to go potty and look what greeted me at my back door.



A big gigantic Cat Face spider. His butt is about as big as a nickel... I was so traumatized I had to lay on the couch the rest of the night and watch TV to get my mind of the beast.

Don't get me wrong! I don't hate spiders. I just don't want them within 100 feet of me or touching me...

Country roads..... Take me home.....

Last week on my way home, I pulled out my handy little camera and snapped a few photo's of the changing view through my windshield. The leaves have changed, and the fields are plowed. As I was driving... I noticed this spider walking across my lap. He nearly caused me to wreck... I swatted him off and blocked him out of my mind. I love fall colors and the smell of fresh plowed dirt!
