Alpha fun…

During the Christmas bazaar season my daughter in law found an alpha hanging she wanted to add to my granddaughter Kendall’s Christmas list.  I told her I was pretty sure I could make something similar.   I used my Photoshop Elements 10 and created this.   I saved each image on my flash drive, took it down to Office Depot and had them print on cardstock.  I then cut out each image, one by one.    I bought a 12x24 canvas at Hobby Lobby and painted it with my American acrylic paint, Sable Brown.    Kendall’s room is in shades of pinks and browns.  I decided instead of painting the background a shade of pink to paint it a shade of brown.

I measured and spaced the images and attached with Mod Podge.  Once they were secured and dry, I painted Mod Podge over the entire project to finish it off.

I added a little extra bling to it; various sized rhinestones.

I added a pretty pink silk ribbon for hanging and a brown bow to finish it off.

Waddif ?

What if?? If only!! Why?? We want everything too SOON! Could it be that God will reveal answers to us when the time comes??

The key is: Meet today's problems with today's strength. Don't start tackling tomorrow's problems until tomorrow. You do not have tomorrow's strength yet. You simply have enough for today.

Jesus made the same point in fewer words:  “ Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.”  Matt 6:34

In other words,  Don't worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will have its own worries. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Have a blessed day!

Water Tower Town

We have had frigid temperatures for a few weeks now.  It’s pretty sad when I get up and it is Zero and get excited because it may warm up for the day.    We have also had some pretty dense fog.   Out by my house some of the trees are thickly covered and when a little breeze hits, it falls off in big clumps.  I put my boots on for a couple of minutes and went out to my back yard this morning and snapped a couple of pictures of the trees with the frost on them.  Today we had beautiful clear blue skies.
I waited a couple of hours then bundled up, put on my boots and took a drive to our little local greenbelt along Indian Creek.  (I’m walking in the creek bed.)
This tree shows a good look at the frozen fog.
And just in case you didn’t know….   I live in a water tower town!
Enjoy!  and as always….

Making Magical Memories

Now that the holidays are over, it’s time to get those photo’s out and make something with them.   The Grandkids had a lot of fun playing Hungry Hungry Hippo’s.  It was so cute seeing them so excited hitting the hippo’s so that it’s mouth would open and gobble up the marbles.  Of course when Carter got the special colored marble it was the best thing in the world because he was the WINNER!

I Believe

I’m finished.  This is the last page of my 2012 Scrap*Life*Journal for 2012.

My favorite colors are Green and Red…. and they also go along with the month of December. Don’t you agree?

I cut a couple of flourishes out and this cute little love bird branch with my Cameo and attached to the page.

This has been a fun project.   Look how many pages I made.

I just bought a new binder because I plan on doing this again for 2013… even if I do it on my own or with the group.
